The Overcoming Believer

TODAY, you must occupy 2

While God is not controlled by time, He introduced us to seasons and time itself. In Genesis 1:14, we see that God created lights to mark seasons, days, and years. So time was established by Him, not to limit Him, but to govern us. From that understanding, mankind developed the clock. Not because we invented time, but because we needed structure to steward what God had already put in place.

Nothing truly surprises God. He was not shocked by the recipe of KFC He was not amazed by the invention of UBER. He is all-knowing. Before an idea enters the mind of man, it exists in His omniscience. So perhaps man does not create in the absolute sense he discovers. He uncovers. He finds what was always possible within God’s created order. Even the clock was not about controlling time itself because time belongs to God but about managing our lives within time. Are we moving together so far? Yes? No ? If not, then read my book, A Thing Called Time.

Yesterday we began a new topic about Israel being instructed to occupy. God told them that today, this very day, they must cross over and take possession. It was not a suggestion for a future season; it was a command tied to timing. When I look at my own life, I can see moments I missed or almost missed because when God said do ABC, I responded with “I’m not ready,” “Not now,” “Maybe in five years,” “I don’t qualify,” or “I don’t have what I need.” Yet when we look at Deutoronomy 9, where Israel is told to cross over “today,” we see that the instruction came with an already-secured promise. Do we really think God gives instructions without factoring in victory? Would He command obedience without already preparing provision? If He says move, it is because grace, strength, and outcome have already been accounted for.

Yes, someone can miss their season. Yes, someone can miss their kairos that appointed, set moment. Scripture reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3 that there is a time for everything, and in Ephesians 5:16 we are told to redeem the time because the days are evil. There is an appointed time for you to start that business where God has already prepared clients ahead of you. Beyond profit or visibility, it is obedience that honours God , following His instruction even when we do not yet see the outcome. Obey on time.

Which additional scripture must we read before we move? What are we waiting for? Why haven’t we started? People of God, we all have twenty-four hours in a day. We function within the same time system as everyone else. So why does your day seem different? It is not that there is nothing to do. The internet can be used to study, to build, to launch, to write, to research. A full day without productivity is not just poor planning; it can become a dishonour of the time God entrusted to us. How many times will you recreate the same vision board instead of executing the vision? What is the real issue? Startup capital, or hesitation? When God says “today,” why do we translate it to mean “six months from now?”

Do you know that God knows when it is best for you to make a move? Yet sometimes we assume we know better, so we postpone obedience and plan to invite Him in later. But what if Heaven’s perspective is, “This would have been perfect yesterday?” I do not know about you, but I have missed opportunities, moments where I could have occupied and did not because I procrastinated. The person you see producing results is not a magician, they simply moved when it was time to move.

How long will you sing the same song of delay? This very day, start something. Go beyond planning, publish it, launch it, sell it. Imagine if KFC had remained in the thinking phase, it would not be what it is today. If you keep dragging your feet, tomorrow will remain guesswork. Today, do something. Use your platforms , even TikTok, to learn, to grow, to be transformed. Especially if you are twenty-five and above, there are spaces waiting to be occupied. Stop blaming your background. “Oh my mom. Ah my dad.” Dear sir/madam, move on from the thinking phase and get on with the doing phase. What has God said to you? Move on with that.

You must do something today or I will soon come to you house. You have heard too much information to give me one more excuse. It’s your teeth I will soon knock out. Because what are you smiling about when there’s so much still undone? See you tomorrow.
