We live in a world where people love to copy and paste. I mean, in the digital world it’s is actually an advantage to be able to copy and paste. It saves time and energy. I wonder if it’s necessary to do so in other things though? We live in a world where we actually need to verify gender , someone’s assigned sexuality at birth on every application form. We live in a time where we have to double check if someone’s body is really natural or a trip to Turkey was made and they came back healed but looking something that their own parent wouldn’t recognise.
These days, we cannot tell whether a video is real of it was done through Al. There’s robots to do almost every work. I came across a video of a young man who was interviewing a robot. You’d swear down that it’s a human being. According to studies we are still early in the process because most humanoids / human robots today are slow, expensive, and limited. But with AI advances + better batteries/motors, the next 5–10 years will likely bring humanoids into warehouses, retail, and eventually homes for chores and care. As in people will prefer robots in their homes than actual people.
Let’s talk a bit about authenticity. What is authenticity and does it have value in our society today. Authenticity basically means being real, genuine, and true. It’s about originality not imitation. Doesn’t look like our world is winning in this right? Authenticity speaks to credibility & true identity. Authenticity is a quality of a person, thing or concept. It’s like going to China , you find a nice LV bag that was never produced by LV and you buy it. It may look exactly like the ones LV produces but the difference is in the test of authenticity.
Firstly, authentic LV bags are much more expensive than the fake. This applies to all things. Authenticity introduces us to value. Anything fake is cheap. Anything fake cannot be trusted for longevity. Eventually the plastic surgery will prove to not have been the best of ideas. It’s amazing how many of these people were actually so beautiful but the desire to fit into a world that has always changed the standards of beauty, made them use huge monies to pay for something that will look ugly in the next couple of years. You can’t win in inauthenticity.
Where are we going with this topic? I want us to come to understand how very important it is to stay true to yourself and the values you hold. Many people cannot be the light of the world and the salt of the earth because of how they have adapted to the fakeness of this world. Instead of being a lamp they have become a candle. Instead of being authentic Christians they have a form of godliness. People of God, we cannot occupy for the kingdom if we are still battling between the lines of realness and fakeness. As we continue building on this topic, let me ask you, are you really a Christian? SELAH.
See you tomorrow.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 in The Passion Translation (TPT):
“You need to know this, In the last days terrible times will come.
People will be self-centered lovers of themselves and obsessed with money. They will boast of great things as they strut around in their arrogant pride and mock all that is right. They will ignore their own families. They will be ungrateful and ungodly. They will become addicted to hateful and malicious slander. Slaves to their desires, they will be ferocious, belligerent haters of what is good and right. With brutal treachery, they will act without restraint, bigoted and wrapped in clouds of their conceit. They will find their delight in the pleasures of this world more than the pleasures of the loving God. They may pretend to have a respect for God, but in reality they want nothing to do with God’s power. Stay away from people like that!”
