Special Edition Thursday with Iyo Prosper

Iyo Prosper

So, we had the absolute privilege of interviewing Iyo, one of the greatest skit makers on the planet! And I’m not exaggerating his creativity is unmatched. But here’s the best part: beyond the talent, he’s genuinely one of the kindest, most welcoming people ever. No drama, no stress just pure humility and warmth.! From the moment I reached out, it was effortless. No hoops to jump through. No complicated stuff .. You know people who don’t make life difficult? Exactly!

If you’re not following him yet… honestly, what are you doing? You’re about to experience some of the most incredible, biblical skits ever.

Wait , don’t rush now. He got nominated for the AMVCA’s so GO VOTE FIRST! Yes, now! Then come back. We’ll wait .. Click the link below ..

Okay , you’re back? GREAT! Let’s get into the interview!

  • What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever believed as a child?
💚 I used to believe that if I swallowed a seed, a tree would grow inside my stomach. It made eating fruits a very stressful experience!

  • If you had to eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
💚 Probably jollof rice with grilled meat and plantain. Classic, delicious, and never gets old.

  • If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be?
💚 Cyber security & Video editing at a cinematic level. It would make my content even more engaging.

  • Who is Iyo beyond the skits?
💚 Iyo is just a young man trying to get by really,  I’m also an introvert who somehow thrives in social spaces.

  • What inspired you to start creating skits?
💚 I’ve always loved storytelling, and I noticed that people connect more with lessons when they’re presented in an engaging, relatable way. Using comedy to retell Bible stories from a modern perspective felt like the perfect way to do that.

  • How did you come up with your unique style of comedy?
💚 My approach blends Nigerian culture with biblical narratives, making them feel fresh and relatable. The diary-style confessions and character interviews add a unique touch, allowing audiences to hear the characters’ perspectives in a modern context.

  • Walk us through your creative process—how do you develop ideas for your skits?
💚 I start by reading a Bible story or observing something in everyday life that sparks an idea. I then think of how a Nigerian would react in that situation. Once the concept is set, I draft the dialogue, plan the shots, and get into character.

  • Do you ever experience creative blocks? How do you overcome them?
💚 Yes, definitely! When that happens, I take a break, watch other creative content for inspiration, or revisit Bible stories with fresh eyes. Sometimes, talking with friends or taking a walk helps new ideas flow.

  • Which of your skits is your personal favourite, and why?
💚 Probably the Nativity story/musical I did last Christmas..I’ve always wanted to infuse my musical side in my skit, and the fact that I got to do that with the  nativity story makes it my favourite !!!

  • What has been the biggest challenge on your content creation journey?
💚 Trying to balance my personal life with my social media life. I have social anxiety, and the fact that I have to talk to a lot of random people on the road scares me sometimes.

  • How do you handle negative comments or criticism on your social media platforms?
💚 I filter through them. If it’s constructive, I take it as feedback. If it’s just hate, I ignore it. Not everyone will get the vision, and that’s okay.

  • When did you get saved?
💚 I’ve always known God, but my faith became truly personal and intentional in my teenage years.

  • We see that you can siiiiing, is it something you would pursue as a career?
💚 I enjoy singing, but for now, it’s more of a personal and worship-driven expression than a career pursuit.

  • What’s one piece of advice you’d like to give to someone looking to deepen their faith?
💚 Take it one day at a time. Spend time in the Word, stay in a community that uplifts you, and be intentional about your relationship with God.

  • What’s the funniest behind-the-scenes moment you’ve had while filming?
    💚

There was a time I set up everything to shoot, only to realise later that I forgot to press record. Happens EVERYTIME !

( I’d scream for 27 hours!)

  • If you could collaborate with any Christian content creator, who would it be?
💚 Probably someone like Arielfitz —her humor and storytelling style are top-notch.

  • If your life were a movie, what would the title be?
  • What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
💚 I’m actually very quiet in person—until you get to know me!

  • Sunrise or sunsets?
💚 Sunsets. They feel peaceful and reflective.

  • Dancing or singing?
💚 Singing. My dancing is strictly for comic relief.

  • Would we find you at the beach or climbing mountains?
💚The Beach. I enjoy the calmness of the waves.

  • How long does it take you to shoot one skit?
💚 Shooting can take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the complexity. Editing takes much longer—sometimes a few hours or even a day!

  • What advice would you give to someone who wants to start making skits but feels unsure?
💚 Just start. You’ll improve as you go. Don’t overthink it—consistency is key.

  • Would you ever consider creating movies or acting in movies?
💚 Yes, I’d love to! It would be a great way to expand storytelling beyond short skits.

  • What platforms is your content on?
💚 Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube and X

  • Create a short poem titled ‘The Day It Finally Stopped Raining.’

Special Edition Thursday with Duza

Jerry Duza Dauda

Jerry and I got into a deep (and slightly dramatic) conversation about food, and I came to a life-changing realisation that I can never, under any circumstances, eat okra with any meat, even if you fry it with olive oil and say it’s anointed. Nope, not happening. Meanwhile, Jerry was hyping his favourite Nigerian dish: pounded yam (which, to me, looks like pap), paired with okra soup and egusi. Have any of you ever tried this combo?

Oh, and in true Nigerian fashion, he boldly declared that Nigerian jollof is superior to Ghanaian jollof, so if you’re Ghanaian, please slide into his DMs and settle this once and for all, whoever wins must make the jollof for the entire Yielded Community all over the world. LOL! Now, let’s get into today’s Special Edition Thursday Interview with none other than Jerry, aka Duza! Let’s go!

  • Where are you from?
▪️I’m from Northern Nigeria, from a minority tribe called the Gbagyi.

  • What’s the story behind the name J.Clone?
▪️ Well, I was, I was looking to project my music as a sold out Gospel Artist and so, that was where the name J.Clone came from. It was supposed to be J.Clone for Jesus clone and with the idea that we are meant to replicate Jesus wherever we go. So J.Clone came from that, and then with time, I felt restricted because I was going about doing my normal ministrations here and there as a hip hop artist, but I had a kind of push back from church, because they didn’t really get my vision when It came to my sound and my style. I was bringing a new sound to the hip hop community, and they felt that this doesn’t belong to the church. But then I decided, after a while, to really do what I feel God has called me to do, and part of that is to be able to reach a wider audience, cutting across the church, and then not allowing myself to be fit into a box. So I adopted my, my tribal name Duza. I just decided to use that as my artist name, and l have been building that. I mean, I don’t know how to put it, but yes, I’m a church boy. So that’s the history about the name. Btw, Duza means God is great!

  • If your life were a movie, what would the title be?
▪️Misfit. I see myself as someone who doesn’t really fit in. My story has always been that of people just trying to figure out who this person is. I’m not able to fit into their idea of whom a rapper should be. See you always have a picture when you talk about rappers or hip hop artists right? What comes to people’s minds is someone who smokes, drinks, who has tattoos, someone who maybe has dreads, you understand. So I’m not a picture of the “classic” Hip Hop guy. What makes me stand out the gift that God has given me and that is what has separated me from the rest. I’m so conscious of the call on my life, I don’t fit into the definitions people have about the hip hop artists.

  • What’s something people assume about you that is not true?
▪️ People think l am too strong.. Because I do a lot of work for people. I am the backstage person, I love to work behind the scenes. So people think I’m strong. I carry their burdens. They think I’m able to take a lot. But there’s actually a part of me that is a little emotional . Maybe I don’t do too well to project that, but I’m not always confident. I’m not always as strong as they see me. So I just feel like that’s the misconception . I think that’s just one thing I want to put out there. I’m not all strong always. It is really just the grace of God that helps me.

  • If you were to describe yourself using 3 emojis, what would they be?
    ▪️ 😎❤️😇
  • How would you describe your style in 3 words?
▪️ I would say Creative , Real Life and Relevant.

  • Where do you draw your inspiration from?
▪️ I draw inspiration from my experiences. Basically, I love to tell stories. I use these experiences to teach through my music. My goal is to help someone, to also inspire them through my story to be better or to do better with their lives. I really want to impact people and to be able to leave a legacy more than just create creating vibes. I’m not vibes on vibes person.

  • Have you ever created something that you thought was fire but it flopped?
▪️LOL! Of course! Im very sure if you ask any artist this question they will tell you the same. We have, that we felt like, ah this will be great. There was a song like I did, I am back. I feel like it was a great record but it didn’t do so well. There’s so many I’ve done, some I didn’t even release them. I recorded an EP some years ago that crashed. The laptop crashed with the entire project so I could not put it out. And that really affected me so much, because I loved the project. Let me hint you, it was from a heartbreak I had just gone through, so I think God was restraining me lol.

  • If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be?
▪️I’ve always wanted to work with Mali Music. Well, l also love Lauryn Hill.

  • Social media can be brutal, how do you handle criticism and negative comments?
▪️Very nice question. I think this is something we all deal with, especially in this time, this age. Sometimes I take time out from social media. Sometimes I just want to go off social media. I used to be very conscious of what people say but I’ve really just understood that social media is a game of psychology. If you understand the psychology of social media you will not take everything you see there, you will be able to filter it. I know that this is what is beneficial, I’m using that to filter what I take in. And l also think people should learn how to block people and negative energy. I block a lot. I just block people who I know are not adding value to my life.

  • What’s the weirdest or funniest DM you ever received?
▪️ Well, not weird but many years ago, I got to work for a US based rapper. They reached out to me to do a chorus for a song. That was one day I knew, I am on the right path doing what God has called me to do. So it wasn’t weird in a bad way. I just felt like, really grateful to God for the opportunity. After that we did two or three more collaborations.

  • What’s your favourite social media app?
    ▪️Twitter!

  • If Twitter shut down today what social media app would be your favourite?
    ▪️ Uhmm Instagram.
  • What’s your favourite scripture?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

  • What’s one lesson God has taught you through your journey?
▪️ Understanding the love of God and how to love the nearest person to me. I feel like the world can do more with much more love than there is right now. If we can express God’s love, the world would be a better place. It’s easy to show love to people we are trying to prove a point to out there but at home we don’t show any of that. The testament of your love really comes from those closest to you who know you.

  • What’s your favourite book of the Bible?
▪️Paul’s letter to the Romans. There’s a lot to learn about Christianity in that book.

  • If you were stranded on an island and you had to have 3 things to survive what would they be?
▪️ Only 3 things? I would have to take my AirPods , a blanket and Edaniels. Ohh my phone too! Add 4 for bonus. We will eat fish from somewhere lol.

  • What’s one song that’s always on repeat on your playlist?
▪️ Yahweh by Edaniels! And bonus, Lonely Road by Jelly Roll.

  • Tea is coffee?
    ▪️Tea

  • Mornings or nights?
    ▪️Mornings. Especially Saturday Mornings!

  • The city or village?
    ▪️City!

  • Movies or Music?
    ▪️Music

  • What’s next for you?
▪️For now I’m doing courses to understand the professional side of things. In music I want to put out more singles this year because there’s a lot of songs I’m working on at the moment. I also plan to do live videos from the songs I’ve released. I see myself developing and diving into music publishing in the future.

  • What advice would you give to young artists who are trying to build their careers?
▪️I do a lot of research so I’m gonna advise on the technical side. They should learn the business part of music and how it’s evolving. They should understand how royalties are paid, how music is published and how you can sync license your songs. Understanding the business side of music will help many artists.

  • If you could give your younger self advice what would it be?
▪️To not be swayed by what others are doing. Understanding the call of God on your life will remove the pressures we go through when we’re too focused on other people. In Nigeria songs are released every week and if you’re not true to yourself you’ll be so confused and pressurised. We call it “I wan blow” that mindset of wanting to be a star overnight. With that mindset you’ll be frustrated and you’ll probably die trying. Just stay true to your own unique path.

  • Any last words or advice you wanna share with us?
▪️It’ll be from my favourite scripture. You may be at the edge of life and dealing with stuff , trust God regardless of whatever is happening. He is able to do! He will direct your paths.

Special Edition Thursday with Ps Alice Halidu

Meet Pastor Mrs Alice Halidu

Pastor Alice Halidu was born in Nigeria. She gave her life to Christ at the age of 13 . As the firstborn in a family of six, she was raised by hardworking, illiterate parents who were farmers. Her father, a former military man, retired to focus on farming before his passing, leaving behind her mother, who is still alive today.
She pursued higher education at the University of Jos in Nigeria, where she earned a degree in Language and Linguistics. She later married Pastor Abraham Halidu, a medical doctor, and together they serve as senior pastors at Revival House Church in Lokoja. The Lord blessed them with four children. She is also the convener of the morning glory prayer network and her ministry has impacted countless lives across different nations and cultures.

  • If you could have dinner with any biblical figure, who would it be?
🌼 I’d like to have a talk with the wisest and richest man that ever lived, KING SOLOMON!

  • What’s one item you always carry in your handbag, no matter where you go?
🌼 Let me cheeeeeck now ! My purse!

  • Tea or coffee?
    🌼 Coffee

  • Lip gloss or lipstick?
    🌼 Lipgloss

  • Earrings or handbag?
    🌼 Earrings

  • What are the 3 core values your parents taught you?
🌼 1. The first one is , God at the Centre of everything. If things are to work then God MUST be the at the centre of everything.

🌼 2. PRAYER. It should be at the centre of every man’s life. I learnt my prayer life from my mother. She is a great woman of prayer.

🌼 3. Total dependency on God for everything. My mom just told me a few days ago

My daughter if you hear that l passed on, don’t come looking for who killed me because nobody can. I passed away because it’s my time and my turn.

  • What are the 2 lessons you have learnt from your marital journey ?
    🌼 Okay, lesson number one

🌼Cont: So when you’re leaving say “Patience where are you? Come and enter this box!” The challenge with this generation is that they leave patience behind and they carry the love and butterflies but by the time reality stares you in the face since you left patience in your father’s house, you’ll carry your bags and move back there. So carry patience, then you can open your box and say, Oya, come out now it’s your time!” 😂

🌼 2. Don’t allow anything to tamper with your PERSONAL and connection to God. Your personal relationship, your contact with God should never be tampered with.

  • What drives your passion to keep serving God and the community?
🌼 My Love for God. Passion dies when there’s no love. Genuine love for God will make you do ANYTHING for Kingdom. It will help your passion to find expression. That you will not only do ministry for ministry sake, or singing in the choir for the sake of singing but you just love God there’s no extent to which you cannot go.This is what is lacking today. People have gifts, talents and graces but if genuine love for God is not there, whatever you’re doing can become fake. Genuine love for God makes you serve Him whether it’s rainy or sunny, with and without the material things so it becomes like this:

“I go to church because l love God. I sing because I love God. I do evangelism because I love God. I refuse to quarrel with my husband because I love God. I don’t want to do anything to grieve Him. My consciousness of the love l have for God makes me refuse to insult the person that just insulted me. I just love God!”
  • As a spiritual mother to many, what do you think is an important lesson for young ladies?
🌼 The Bible says the older women should teach the younger ones. I think the young ladies should have a teachable heart. I know you guys know more than us with technology and digital things but the wisdom of the old and the dynamics of the younger ones combined will make us an unbeatable force.
  • How has your relationship with God changed from the time you were single into marriage?
🌼 I loved God since I was young and so I’ve told my husband that l was on my way to heaven before l met him and I’m not planning to change my mind. A lot of times many of the things you knew will be tested, from patience, endurance to your love for God. You have to grow. Your heart will be stretched and your capacity must increase.
    I just increased capacity.
  • Reflecting on your journey , is there a moment that made you think ,”Only God made this possible!”
🌼 Oh l always talk about this. It was when my father passed on. As the first of six siblings, I don’t know if it’s like that in South Africa but in Nigeria burials are a big deal especially for the first child. You are the one carrying the whole load. My fear was how my father was going to be buried, the burial expenses. I remember that day I went to church and l pleaded with the praise and worship leader to allow me lead praise just for some few minutes . That praise l led that day was between me and God, that’s when l knew that praise is really a weapon. People didn’t know that my father had just passed on. I gave God all the glory and l led people to dance. I myself danced until l started wiping the floor with my body. One prayer request l had was, “Lord bury my father for me. Don’t put me to shame. Don’t let them ask me where is my God.” And Vanessa God did wonders for me. People came from all over, even people that l didn’t expect. My father was buried like a king. I came back and returned the glory to the same God who buried my father for me. God showed up for me. Praise became a practical weapon in my life. That’s an incident in my life I will never forget. There are many testimonies that l know that this one is just God, things you can’t deny even if they put a knife on your throat, you know that this one was done by God . Just like the disciples said

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—”
‭‭I John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  • What are the challenges you’ve faced as an overseer of a church?
🌼 One of the challenges is trying to do it by myself forgetting that Jesus Christ said that He will build HIS church. Another thing is trying to fix everybody and trying to make everybody fall in line. I wanted everybody to be this and that but it’s exhausting but I realised that all l can do is preach and pray and allow Holy Spirit to do His part.

  • Who are the 3 people that you look up to?
🌼 Well, God because He is the Author and Finisher of my faith. I look up to the fathers in the faith. People like Papa EA Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He’s 83 and he’s still fervent in his service to God. I listened to him live and I was wondering what is his driving force and motivation even at this age. He’s still passionate about serving God. I want to be like him. I look up to his wife, Mama Folu Adeboye. Her passion for missions! She does ministry to the body of Christ and has the heart of a mother. I also look up to my husband, Dr. Ps Abraham Halidu . The passion with which he serves God is amazing!

  • How would you like to be remembered?
🌼 Oh you just asked me a touching question. If you ask my children, l say it all the time. I said I want them to write on my tomb,

Mrs Alice Halidu, a woman who loved Jesus.

That’s my summary

I want everything l do to be motivated by my love for God. If I could l would go and buy all that love and print it in my heart. For example, as young single girl if a man comes and says , “Sleep with me.” You say , “It’s not that l can’t but l won’t because l love God.” I can’t taste this and that because God’s love has already intoxicated me. I should be angry with you and keeping malice but I love God!

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬-‭40‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Love your neighbours too. If pastors love their members they won’t cheat them. If members love their pastors they won’t put them in tight corners. The world would be a better place. Husbands loving their wives, pastors loving each other even people would want to be Christians. Loving people will stop people from saying false prophecies. Just loving God and loving your neighbour will make everything so much better.

Special Edition Thursday with Mrs Erica W Benjamin

Mrs Erica N. Williams Benjamin

Erica N. Williams Benjamin is an Author, Speaker, and Purity Coach with over a decade of experience on her own purity journey, beginning in 2011 when she made a life-altering decision to abstain from sex until marriage. As the founder of Journey to Purity®, she has supported countless women worldwide to break free from cycles of shame and embrace God’s plan for their lives. Her Holistic Purity 101™ course has received rave reviews from students, with many testifying to the transformation they’ve experienced in their spiritual, emotional, and sexual lives. Erica’s commitment to holistic purity and helping women and churches walk confidently in their purpose is grounded in her personal testimony and academic pursuit, as she is currently a second-year student at the New Covenant School of Ministry in Statesboro, Georgia. She offers a unique blend of practical experience, deep faith, and biblical knowledge to guide women and churches to experience freedom, fulfilment, and alignment with God’s will.

  • What inspired you to start Journey to Purity?

💜 I started Journey to Purity® because I knew what it felt like to struggle alone. My personal purity journey began in September 2011 after I hit a breaking point—I was tired of the cycle of half-hearted commitment to Christ. I made a firm decision to honour God in every area of my life, but the journey wasn’t easy. Every year on my abstinence anniversary, I would share my lessons and how my relationship with Christ deepened. By the third or fourth year, women started reaching out, saying they were on the same journey or longed for the freedom I spoke of. That’s when I realised —so many women desired to honour God in this area but felt isolated, unsure, and in need of support. So, I took a leap of faith. I started a monthly conference call where we could be real about our struggles, celebrate our wins, and encourage each other to keep going. What started as a small gathering quickly grew into a global community. Journey to Purity® was born out of my transformation journey, but it exists today to help other women experience the same freedom, joy, and closeness with God that changed my life.

  • Can you share a bit about your personal journey with purity and how it led to this ministry?

💜 My journey with purity has been anything but perfect. From a young age, I found myself struggling in ways I didn’t fully understand. It started with childhood games, then painful experiences I didn’t ask for, and by my teenage years, l had developed an addiction to pornography. One night, my mother caught me and, instead of reacting with anger, she prayed over me. That night changed everything—I was set free and never had the desire to watch it again. But my struggles didn’t just disappear. Throughout my early 20s, I battled lustful thoughts and masturbation, trying to break free but feeling stuck in cycles of shame and defeat. It wasn’t until I had a life-changing encounter with God through a prophetic word that my heart began to shift. As I surrendered more and more to His will, my desires started to change . When I first started sharing my journey, I was just being open about my own struggles and the freedom I was experiencing. But I quickly realized I wasn’t alone—so many women were facing the same battles, feeling isolated and unsure of how to move forward. That’s when I knew Journey to Purity® was needed. It’s not about perfection; it’s about a heart that’s willing. This ministry is my invitation to every woman who feels stuck—to “come and see” what God has done in my life and what He desires to do in yours too.

  • What’s your favourite purity verse or statement?

💜 My favourite verse on purity is Psalms 119:9, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By
guarding it according to your word. ”

This verse is a constant reminder that purity isn’t something we achieve by sheer
willpower—it’s a result of staying anchored in God’s Word. The more we meditate on His truth, the more it gets hidden in our hearts (Psalm 119:11), and when temptation comes, His Word rises up to strengthen us.
On this journey, I’ve learned that purity has never been about just saying ‘no’ to sin; it’s
about saying ‘yes’ to God—over and over again
. And the best way to do that is by filling our hearts and minds with His truth so that when we’re faced with choices, we already know which path leads to life.

I’ve learned that purity has never been about just saying ‘no’ to sin; it’s
about saying ‘yes’ to God—over and over again

Mrs Erica W Benjamin

  • What are some of the biggest misconceptions people have about purity?

💜 One of the biggest misconceptions about purity is that it’s just about sex. So many people hear the word “purity” and immediately think it only applies to virgins and/or singles. But purity is so much deeper than that—it’s about the posture of our hearts toward God. At Journey to Purity®, I work with women who often carry shame because they feel like they’ve already ‘lost’ their purity—whether because they’re not virgins, have had children out of wedlock, or struggle with lustful thoughts. But here’s the truth: Purity isn’t something you lose because of a past mistake. We are made pure through the blood of Jesus Christ. When I share this with women, it lifts a heavy burden off their shoulders and helps them see that purity is possible for them—not because of their own strength, but because of God’s grace.Another misconception is that purity is just about saying ‘no’ to sex. But in reality, struggles with sexual sin often stem from deeper heart issues—things like trauma, negative self-esteem, lack of confidence, and even a lack of faith. That’s why Journey to Purity® focuses on a holistic approach—helping women grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and even financially—because when we allow God to transform our whole lives, walking in purity becomes a byproduct of that transformation.

  • Have you faced challenges in promoting purity in today’s culture? How do you navigate them?

💜 Promoting purity in today’s culture definitely comes with challenges, but the rewards far outweigh them. In a world that often normalises casual sex and instant gratification, choosing to walk in purity—let alone teach it—can feel countercultural. Before I got married, I heard all kinds of comments, from people joking that I’d never find a husband because “men want to test drive before committing, ” to whispers behind my back about how I was being “extra” and that it didn’t take all that to live for Christ. But one of the best pieces of advice I ever received about evangelism and leadership in the Kingdom is not to be easily offended. That advice has helped me navigate criticism with grace. I remind myself that I was once in a place where I didn’t fully understand purity either. Instead of taking offence, I choose to pray—for those who don’t understand, for those who feel trapped in their struggles, and for God to use me to plant seeds that He can water and grow in His timing. At the end of the day, I don’t expect everyone to understand or agree with this message. But I also know that purity isn’t just some outdated rule—it’s a pathway to true freedom, joy, and intimacy with God. And that’s a message worth sharing, no matter what challenges come my way.

  • Tell us about how you started the Journey to Purity movement and how it has grown over the years? (Is it a global movement)

💜 Journey to Purity® started in 2014 with something really simple—monthly conference calls. I had no idea then that those small virtual gatherings would grow into a global movement. As more women joined, we expanded to local in-person meet-ups, monthly workshops, and even an annual retreat. We also hosted conferences specifically for teen girls because I wanted to reach younger women before they faced some of the same struggles I did. In 2020, we shifted back to virtual meetings, which allowed us to reach even more women, and in 2021, we took a big step by partnering with the YouVersion Bible App. That same year, we moved our online community from Facebook to Mighty Networks, which was a game- changer. Suddenly, we started receiving membership requests from women all over the world! That’s when it truly hit me—Journey to Purity® wasn’t just a local or national movement anymore; God was expanding it globally. Over the years, we’ve also grown in the resources we offer. What started as just conversations turned into mentorship, coaching, books, courses, and challenges—all designed to help women not only commit to purity but to thrive in it. Looking back, I see how every step was divinely orchestrated, and I’m grateful for the way God continues to transform lives across the world through Journey to Purity®
  • How does Journey to Purity help individuals who have struggled in this area or feel they have “failed”?

💜 So many women come into our community carrying shame, thinking they’ve failed because of their past (or current) struggles. But we remind them that purity isn’t something you lose; it’s something you walk in daily through God’s grace. Through mentorship, coaching, courses, and a supportive community, we help women renew their minds, break free from guilt, and embrace the freedom that Christ has already given them. It’s not about where you’ve been—it’s about where you’re going. And we walk that journey together, one step at a time, knowing that God’s love and redemption are always greater than our past mistakes.

  • Is your community for both the single and married, especially with the misconception that purity is for the singles?

💜 Absolutely! Purity isn’t just for singles—it’s a lifelong journey for every believer, no matter their relationship status. That’s why our community welcomes all women—single, engaged, married, divorced, and widowed—because God calls us all to walk in purity. There’s a common misconception that purity is only about abstinence before marriage, but it’s so much more than that. Purity is about the heart—it’s reflected in how we think, speak, and live in alignment with God’s will. A married woman still needs to guard her heart, honour God in her marriage, and cultivate purity in her thoughts and actions. A single woman needs strength and encouragement to wait well. A divorced or widowed woman may be navigating healing and rediscovering her identity in Christ. No matter where you are in life, purity is a daily pursuit, and in Journey to Purity®, you don’t have to walk it alone. We grow together, support one another, and embrace the fullness of God’s design for purity in every season.

  • Does Journey to Purity provide guidance for both men and women?

💜 Right now, Journey to Purity® is a community created specifically for women. My heart is to help women walk in purity in every area of life—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, financially, and sexually. Lord willing, we may expand to serve men in the future, but for now, our focus is on equipping women with the tools and support they need. That said, even though our resources were created with women in mind, many men have found them helpful because they are rooted in biblical principles that apply to everyone. If you’re a man looking for a community specifically for men, I highly recommend Will Frazier, founder of Complete Holiness CLICK HERE a ministry dedicated to helping men walk in purity and holiness.
  • How can believers guard their hearts and minds in a world that constantly challenges purity?

💜 Guarding our hearts and minds in a world that constantly challenges purity requires both intentionality and dependence on God. It starts with knowing why you’re choosing purity— not just as a rule to follow, but as a response to God’s love and His best for you. When you understand who you are in Christ—chosen, set apart, and deeply loved—it strengthens your ability to resist temptation because you no longer see purity as just what you do, but as who you are. Surrounding yourself with like-minded believers is also key. Community plays a huge role in accountability and encouragement. That’s why Journey to Purity® exists—to remind women that they don’t have to walk this journey alone. And of course, prayer is essential. We can’t do this in our own strength. Asking God for help, rejecting the lies of the enemy, and consistently meditating on God’s Word are all powerful ways to guard our hearts and minds. Psalm 119:11 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” The more we fill ourselves with His truth, the easier it becomes to recognise and resist the things that try to pull us away from Him.

  • What is your advice to someone who has been living an impure life and wants to change but has no community or friends who can be of reliable support?

💜If you’ve been living an impure life and want to change but feel like you have no support, I first want to encourage you—you are not alone. The desire to change is already evidence that God is working in your heart, and He will provide the strength and the support you need. Start by praying and asking God to bring the right people into your life—friends, mentors, or a community that will uplift you and point you toward Him. He is faithful to answer those prayers in ways you might not even expect! But when those opportunities come, embrace them. It can feel uncomfortable at first, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own, but healing happens in community. James 5:16 reminds us that when we confess our struggles to one another and pray together, healing takes place. Don’t shy away from vulnerability. The enemy wants you to believe that your past disqualifies you, but Revelation 12:11 tells us that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Your story isn’t something to be ashamed of—it’s something God can use to bring freedom, not just for you, but for others too. And if you don’t know where to find support, Journey to Purity® is here for you. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. At Journey to Purity®, you’ll find a place to grow, be encouraged, and walk this journey with women who understand.

  • How do Christians set and maintain godly standards when dating?

💜 Setting and maintaining godly standards in dating starts with a foundation of prayer. Before entering a relationship, and the journey, seek God’s guidance. Ask Him to give you discernment and wisdom—not just in choosing the right person but in honoring Him through your actions and decisions. Once you’re in a relationship, communication is key. Talk openly and honestly with your partner about boundaries and expectations. Don’t assume you’re on the same page—clarity is essential. Establishing boundaries early helps prevent confusion and temptation down the road. And don’t just set them—commit to them together.
  • Is kissing before marriage wrong or is about personal conviction?

This is one of those topics that doesn’t have a clear-cut “yes” or “no” in the Bible, which is why personal conviction and wisdom are so important. Rather than getting caught up in rules, I believe the real question should be: Does this honor God and protect my heart? When we pray and ask God for wisdom, He is faithful to give it (James 1:5). If kissing before marriage stirs up temptation or leads your thoughts in a direction that doesn’t align with purity, then it’s wise to set that boundary. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us to “abstain from every appearance of evil,” and Ephesians 5:3 reminds us that there shouldn’t even be a hint of sexual immorality among believers. For some, a kiss may not be a stumbling block, but for others, it can quickly become a gateway to compromise. That’s why it’s essential to be honest with yourself and your partner about what helps you stay aligned with God’s will. The goal isn’t to see how close you can get to the line without crossing it—the goal is to honour God with your body, mind, and heart. At the end of the day, it’s not about legalism; it’s about love—loving God enough to obey His will and loving yourself and your future spouse enough to protect the purity of your relationship. If you seek Him in this area, He will lead you to what’s best for you!

  • How do I heal from past sexual sin as well as trauma like “rape” that make one feel impure and condemned?

💜 First, I want to say that if you’re struggling with feelings of impurity or condemnation because of past sexual sin or trauma, you are not alone—and you are not beyond God’s healing. The enemy wants you to believe that what happened to you defines you, but that is a lie. Your identity is not in your past—it’s in Christ. One of the first steps to healing is getting clear about what God’s Word says about you. Romans 8:1 reminds us that, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in possession Christ Jesus.” That means that if you’ve repented of past sin, God has forgiven you— completely. And if you’ve experienced sexual trauma, please hear this: What happened to you was not your fault. God does not see you as “damaged” or “impure” because of what someone else did. You are His beloved daughter, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). A practical step to healing is to write down the lies you’ve believed about yourself—things like “I’m unworthy,” “I’m broken,” or “I’ll never be free.” Then, find God’s truth in His Word that directly combats those lies. Speak those truths over yourself daily. When the enemy tries to remind you of your past, remind him of his future—because your future in Christ is one of healing, wholeness, and freedom. I also encourage you to seek wise, godly counsel. A Christian counselor, pastor, or trusted mentor can help you process your pain and work through the emotional and spiritual wounds. Surround yourself with a community that speaks life and reminds you of God’s love for you. Healing is a journey, but you don’t have to walk it alone. God is with you every step of the way, and He is more than able to restore everything that was lost. You are not too far gone. You are deeply loved, fully forgiven, and completely redeemed.

  • Is it wrong to avoid fornication but masturbate to ease myself? And can virgins be impure?

💜 This is such a real question, and I love that you’re thinking deeply about what it means to truly walk in purity. Avoiding fornication is important, but purity isn’t just about what we don’t do—it’s about the condition of our hearts. Masturbation is often seen as a “safe” alternative to sexual sin, but the reality is that it still feeds lust and can create a cycle of bondage that keeps us focused on self-gratification rather than surrendering to God. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 tells us that “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honourable , not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God.” If something pulls us away from self-control and into lust, it’s worth surrendering to God. Now, about virgins and purity—yes, a person can be a virgin and still struggle with impurity. Purity is holistic. It’s not just about whether someone has had sex; it’s about our thoughts, words, actions, and motives. Jesus made this clear in Matthew 5:28 when He said that even looking at someone with lust is sin. Someone can be abstinent but still battle with lustful thoughts, impure speech, or dishonouring God in other ways. The goal isn’t just virginity—it’s a life that is fully yielded to God in every area. If this is an area of struggle for you, I want to encourage you: you are not alone. Temptation is real, but so is God’s grace. He doesn’t expect us to fight these battles in our own strength.

  • Can a married Christian couple watch porn or 18+ movies?

💜 Marriage is a gift from God, and Hebrews 13:4 tells us that “the marriage bed is undefiled,” meaning that within marriage, intimacy is a sacred and beautiful thing. However, that doesn’t mean that anything goes. As believers, we’re still called to guard our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:8), and watching pornography—or any content that stirs up lust—can open doors to impurity, unrealistic expectations, and even spiritual warfare in a marriage. Pornography is not just “harmless entertainment.” Jesus made it clear in Matthew 5:28 that “anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Watching something designed to arouse lust actively works against the oneness God intended for marriage. It also brings in a worldly view of sex—one that is often rooted in exploitation, objectification, and selfishness rather than love, intimacy, and mutual honour. Now, what about 18+ movies? Not every mature-rated movie is pornographic, but we still should ask: Does this draw me closer to Christ or pull me away? 1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us to “abstain from every appearance of evil.” If what we’re watching stirs up lust, tempts us, or introduces perversion into our hearts and marriage, then it’s not worth it. At the end of the day, this isn’t about following a checklist of rules—it’s about protecting what God has given you. Your marriage is holy ground. Anything you invite into it should align with God’s design, not the world’s distortion of love and intimacy. If you and your spouse want to cultivate deeper intimacy, there are so many God-honoring ways to do that— without opening the door to something that could create division, comparison, or bondage. So instead of asking, “Is it wrong?” maybe ask, “Does this glorify God? Does this strengthen our marriage? Does this align with purity?” If the answer is no, then it’s worth surrendering. God’s way is always better.

  • Can a married Christian couple use sexual toys to enhance their sexual life?

💜.Now, when it comes to sex toys, the key question isn’t just, “Is this allowed?” but “Does this align with God’s design for intimacy?” Many of these products were created to mimic, replace, or even separate the act of intimacy from the actual connection between husband and wife. They can introduce elements of lust, perversion, or selfishness—things that contradict the heart of God’s plan for marriage (1 John 2:16). God intended for intimacy to be relational, not just physical. It’s about knowing each other deeply, serving one another, and building a bond that goes beyond the physical. When outside objects become the focus, they can shift intimacy away from its original purpose and subtly conform our desires to worldly standards rather than godly ones (Romans 12:2). A good rule of thumb? If something in the marriage bed is leading you toward lust, fantasy, or dependence on something other than your spouse, it’s worth questioning. 1 Corinthians 6:12 reminds us that “all things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful.” Just because something is possible doesn’t mean it’s beneficial—especially when it comes to honoring God in marriage. At the end of the day, every couple must seek God on these matters. Pray together, invite the Holy Spirit into your intimacy, and ask, “Is this drawing us closer to one another and God, or is it opening doors to something else?” God’s design for marriage is already more than enough. Trust that His way brings the deepest fulfilment and lasting joy. At the end of the day, emotional faithfulness is just as important as physical faithfulness. God’s design for marriage is one where both partners feel safe—fully known, fully loved, and fully connected. Don’t let the enemy trick you into thinking you can get your emotional needs met outside of God’s design. True intimacy starts with intentionality—so choose today to pour into your marriage, protect your heart, and invite God into the places where you need healing.

  • If you could leave our readers with one key message about purity, what would it be?

💜 It would be this: purity is possible. I know that might be hard to believe, especially if you’ve struggled or if the world has convinced you that it’s unrealistic. But God never calls us to something impossible—He equips us for the journey. Don’t let shame or past mistakes convince you that purity is out of reach. The enemy wants you to believe that it’s too late, that you’re too broken, or that you’ll never be able to get it right. But those are lies. God’s grace is bigger than your past, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Instead of striving to “get it right” in your own strength, shift your focus to drawing near to Him. James 4:8 reminds us that when we take one step toward God, He draws near to us. The closer you get to Him, the more your desires will align with His, and purity will become a natural reflection of your relationship with Him. So don’t give up. Keep going. Keep trusting. Keep surrendering. You are not alone in this journey, and with God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).
