Imagine walking into a store to buy a beautiful dress (ugh, I miss shopping). You find the dress, pay for it, and start walking out, feeling all excited like me when I shop, Iâm just ontop of the world. But then, you realise you lost the receipt. The security guy stops you and says, âLetâs go back to the counter to confirm you actually paid.â
You get to the counter, and the cashier looks at you and says, âIf you donât have the receipt, it means you didnât pay. Youâll have to pay again.â What would be your response? âNo way Iâve already paid for it! Iâm not paying for it twice.â
It turns into a full-blown scene. The cashier stands her ground, insisting you never paid. The security guard doesnât believe a word you say. Next thing you know, handcuffs. They drag you back inside, everyoneâs staring. Youâre being questioned like a criminal. To make things worse, they hand you a broom and a mop, forcing you to clean the store as punishment for âstealing.â Shame and confusion wrap around you like a heavy coat. You keep pleading, âI paid! I paid!â At this point youâre even crying bitterly.
But itâs no use. The cashier either has full-blown amnesia or sheâs the devil in human form. She even argues the fact that you used your dadâs card to pay.
Then, in the middle of all that madness, a kind woman approaches you. She frowns and says, âWhy are you mopping the floor? You donât even work here.â You look at her, broken and exhausted, and tell her everything. She pauses, then says, âWait, have they even scanned the barcode or checked the system?â She grabs the item, gets someone to scan it, and BAAAM! there it is. Proof. Confirmation. The system shows you paid in full.
Suddenly the room shifts. The truth stands taller than all the lies. You were right the whole time. You whisper under your breath, âI told you. It was already paid for.â
My Yielded people , Thatâs exactly whatâs happening to many of us. Jesus already paid in full, He settled it all at the cross. Yet, here we are, being told to pay again. Told weâre not going anywhere . Told weâre not free. And because we donât know how to âcheck the system,â weâre out here mopping floors in handcuffs, slaves under the enemyâs lies.
The devil, like that cashier, acts like he doesnât know the truth. He pretends thereâs no record. Why? Because he profits from your ignorance. He benefits when you donât know your rights in Christ. He keeps you working, serving, striving, trying to earn whatâs already yours. But hereâs the truth: Jesus paid for the dress. Itâs yours.
Just because the enemy wonât acknowledge the payment doesnât mean it wasnât made. Heavenâs system has a record. The barcode still scans. The blood still speaks. The cross still stands. Believers who donât know how to access that truth will keep living like prisoners instead of the free sons and daughters they are. Youâre not a cleaner in the enemyâs shop, youâre a co-heir in the kingdom of God. Itâs already paid for. Walk out of that store. The receipt is written in His blood. You are saved and free to leave the store with whatever you want!
You canât just say âItâs already paid forâ without proof. In the natural, if you lose the receipt, you risk being treated like a thief even if you paid. Thatâs why stores have systems, scanners, barcodes, and cameras. Proof exists. But unless you know where to look, youâll suffer unjustly. Now take that into the spiritual. Where is our proof? In the Word of God. Thatâs our system. Thatâs where we scan, check, confirm, and present our case.
In the story I shared earlier, if there hadnât been a system to scan the barcode, you couldâve been sent to jail, punished for something you never did. And guess what? The store owners know they have cameras. They know you paid. But unless someone stands up and demands the truth, they wonât tell you. Theyâll let you mop. Thatâs exactly what the devil is doing today.
He knows what happened at Calvary. He knows the blood was shed. He knows the curse was broken. He was there. But heâs banking on one thing: your ignorance. Because if you donât know your rights, your receipt, or your spiritual legal standing, youâll pay again. And right now, many believers are paying again. Paying with their peace. Paying with their health. Paying with their joy, finances, and marriages. Paying even with their entire lives. Labouring under Pharaoh because they donât know theyâve already been set free. But I refuse to pay again.
âIf the Son sets you free, you are free indeedâ (John 8:36).
So why am I not allowed to leave the store with my bag of goodies? Because the realm of the spirit is legalistic. It doesnât respond to emotions and tears, it responds to evidence. They want receipts. So today, I present mine: The blood of Jesus Christ. And according to Revelation 12:11:
âAnd they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimonyâŠâ
Thatâs how we win. The blood + the Word = the receipt. So I ask again: How is an overcomer still mopping floors?
Selah.
