🌼The adulterous woman

Hello, my Yielded People! 🌸 I trust you all had a wonderful weekend. Today we’re looking at one of the “famous” women in the Bible her story is found in the Gospels, and she is among those who had a life-changing encounter with Jesus.

But before we dive in, can I encourage you: read the Word of God for yourself. Don’t just “discover” things here on the blog when the treasures are already written in your Bible. God forbid this blog ever takes the place of your Bible! Think of this as a bonus devotion, something extra after you’ve spent time in your own walk with God. I truly urge us not to rely only on what we are taught, but to cultivate that hunger for one-on-one teaching with the Holy Spirit. So please, read your Bible. Alright, let’s gooo! 🚀

When you study the Old Testament, the commandments and the laws of Moses given to Israel ; you’ll notice that most of these laws carried consequences. Break the law, and you face judgment; keep the law, and you receive blessing. That’s why we often read of people being stoned, cast out, or disciplined the Israelites lived under the strict weight of the law. When Jesus came, the religious leaders even tried to use the law as a trap to kill Him. It’s important to understand: although we are no longer bound by the law of Moses, we are still called to uphold God’s principles. If we ignore them, the consequences are eternal, Scripture is clear that if there’s no repentance , you will go to Hell.

“As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT
‬‬

Do you see the law there? On the basis of the law, they carried this out. The Bible says she was caught so these men weren’t lying. It wasn’t a fabricated story. She did it. She was in the very act. Nobody just woke up and decided to blame her for something she hadn’t done.

Can I just say, this is exactly what will happen on Judgment Day. Nobody will accuse you of what you didn’t do. We will face the consequences of our own actions. It’s easy for someone to say, “I didn’t do it!” Maybe no one on earth saw you. But before the Lord? Darling, the accuracy of your life will leave you speechless, down to the very timestamps of your deeds. That’s why this woman had no voice in that court. Deep down, she knew in her heart of hearts that these men were not lying.

I’ve heard of people who get caught cheating and then say, “Ah, it’s because of you.” If you want, allow yourself to be brainwashed but the truth is this: people cheat because they choose to. People lie because they want to. We sin because we want to sin. Nobody can ever say, “God made me sin.” Sure, you can manipulate people into thinking your wrong actions were caused by them but you can never pull that stunt with the Holy Spirit.

“I hit you because I love you.” What a foolish thing to say. No, you hit her because you are abusive. I’m trying to help you see that every single person must face the consequences of their own actions even this very woman in the story. And here’s something else that’s interesting…

Relationship math. How many people does it take to commit adultery? Two. For it to even be called adultery, it means two people were caught. Yet only the woman was brought forward. Two people sinned, but one was dragged. We haven’t even gone past the first verse (lol), but that’s okay, we won’t rush. We need to pause and let the Word edify us. So, a man and a woman are caught in adultery, and they bring the woman to be stoned to death. But where was the man?

Now listen, this isn’t a feminism speech to say “ah, women are blamed and men aren’t.” That’s not the point. The point is: two people committed the same sin, but only one faced the consequences. Don’t be deceived into thinking that just because you didn’t face consequences, you weren’t guilty. You saw someone dragged on social media. You saw another in the news, standing in court for rape. And you think you’re safe because your own sin is still a secret? But some years ago, you did the same thing.

You’re quick to drag your husband for cheating, but you also have that one “boy” somewhere who knows all the colors of your underwear. The woman was caught and dragged, fine. But the man should never think he’s holy simply because he wasn’t dragged. Don’t confuse not being exposed with holiness. Sometimes the only difference is mercy, God giving you time, a chance to repent. Take it. Take it now as you’re reading this. Because next time … selah

The last part of the verse says, “they put her in front of the crowd.” Now, a crowd doesn’t just gather for nothing. People gather when there’s something to see, to hear, or to receive. Usually, it’s because someone is influential, has something to give, or for news. Otherwise, people are too busy to gather. One of the biggest things that makes a crowd gather is news. And here, the crowd was already there when they brought in the woman.

Maybe some of you have had a “crowd” gather around your life before. At work, an accusation is made. At home, maybe you really did do something wrong. But was the crowd necessary? We live in a world that loves to publicise everything and it didn’t start with TikTok. Today, the crowd is social media. You make a mistake, and suddenly you’re trending. Strangers who don’t even know you are sitting in judgment like they’re the court. Some people we’ve dragged online might have repented but instead, because we hammered them, they spiralled into suicide or bitterness. We gather crowds to watch someone else’s shame.

But have we ever stopped to ask, what if that was me? Don’t say it can’t be you because it can. Remember what we discussed? Secret sin doesn’t make you holy. It just makes you hidden for a while. Look around at social media TikTok, Twitter, and the rest. A man of God makes a human mistake in speech, and suddenly the crowd weighs one slip against his entire calling. Really? You, who curses daily without thinking, suddenly feel qualified to “stone” him? You, with 19 secret girlfriends, are the same one shouting, “Crucify him!”

The truth is, social media is full of people no different from the woman caught in adultery. But they gather online to slander, to stone, to shame. That’s the world we live in: take a picture, post it, drag them, expose them. Bring it into the group chat, let the whole family stone them.

But here’s the takeaway for you today: one day, you too will face the consequences of your sin unless you repent. What you keep covering will one day be uncovered. And when a sinner stands before you, remember this: you also once stood in that place. And the only reason you are free is because of the grace and mercy of God.

Worship Wednesday

It’s Worship Wednesday! Guys life is so fast. I was in church just now then tadaaaa it’s midweek. Do you realise that we’re getting older and older (I need a certain sticker from my WhatsApp) I can’t believe I’m almost 😅 let me khawm down.
Let’s finish up on Mrs Adam’s story.

I often wonder why the serpent approached Eve and not Adam. Honestly, I have no definite answer. But perhaps he knew if the one called to help falls, then the one being helped will eventually stumble too. I don’t think he went for her right away; he must have studied her.

Yesterday we said, watch the conversations you entertain. And here we see Eve locked in a back-and-forth with the devil. He speaks, she responds. He twists, she considers. Until eventually, his words convince her. Do you know how faith is built? By hearing words. If Eve had not listened, she wouldn’t have fallen. Words carry power whether you hear them or speak them. The enemy spoke long enough until she started believing his lie.

It’s the same way a boy can “toast” you on the phone for an hour until you start believing he’s your husband. Or how an abuser can call you names long enough until you start believing you’re worthless. It’s not just the conversation that matters , it’s also the length of it. The longer you stay, the more dangerous it becomes. And so, Eve’s perception shifts. That ordinary fruit she passed by daily suddenly looks different. Maybe it tastes good. Maybe I should try it. Maybe I’ve been missing out.

Eve found herself in a position where her worship was compromised. She had to choose: Do I remain in fellowship with God, or do I choose this other option? We all know what happened. She took the fruit, ate it, and gave it to Adam and he ate too. Women, do you see the power you carry? If mishandled, our influence can easily sway others in the home, at work, even in the church. The truth is, the best marketeers are women. You’ll buy something you don’t even need simply because of how a woman presents it! Some say Eve learned this from the devil. I don’t know if we truly “learn” from him, but I know this: what happened in Eden was not just about a piece of fruit. It was about compromised worship. Compromised fellowship. Compromised communion with God.

Sisters, the enemy is after your worship. That’s why you’re constantly attacked with offence, heart-noise, and emotional rollercoasters. Because when it’s time to worship, when the Lord calls for your alabaster box, you might say: No, I still want to argue. I still want to complain. What was lost in Eden was not just positioning, but the correct posture of worship. Jesus had to restore it when He said, “The Father seeks those who worship in spirit and in truth.” That was the way worship originally was until disobedience compromised it.

And when God came into the garden, He had to call out, “Adam, where are you?” Adam’s place of companionship was empty. The enemy had used Eve’s influence to cut us off from sweet, beautiful fellowship with the Lord. So today, I am calling women back to the place of genuine worship. And I am calling men back to the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Will you worship Him today?

🌷Eve {2}

Hello God’s Princes & Princesses! Must be nice being the Almighty’s children! I really wouldn’t want anything less. Which makes me wonder why someone would willingly choose the devil like???? I don’t know if you guys have seen that video of the man who was saying if you refuse Jesus he will mobilise some boys 😂 I’m about to do that too.

You read my blog & you don’t take JESUS seriously , I will mobilise Yielded People , we find you and deal with you!! You would have to visit the dentist for some fake teeth because the ones you have now will be crashed into powder 😂 (that’s a serious threat!) but on a more serious note,

Fix your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ

Today.

So, Eve right. Last night while teaching in the Midnight Prayer Group, I shared that Eve was presented to Adam like a gift, a need. God saw that she was needed in the garden. She wasn’t created to do what cows do, to act or think like a chicken, or to just be stagnant like the trees in Eden. She was created with something within her, the ability to help, to nurture, to build. I absolutely love being a woman. God’s works are truly beautiful! I found myself saying, “A woman, what a great concept.” Then I thought, maybe that’s not the best English but honestly, who cares? As long as you catch my drift!

Someone told me they’re beefing with Eve and honestly, I get it! Like, “Eve, why did you do it? We wouldn’t be stressing about bills and weaves if you just stayed away from that tree!” And I really need a weave which l wouldn’t have if I was still in Eden. I was telling my cousin that I’d have had the most wowalicious hair. Now they are telling us to pay thousands. Yho ai! Anyways

Think about it: Eve stepped into an already created, already beautified world. And not just that, there was a handsome man waiting for her in it. Literally, soft life on a hundred! Adam had already been given the instructions on how the garden was to be run. So every home, every Organisation, every institution has rules that guide it. These rules exist to protect peace, order, and uniqueness. For example, your parents might have wanted you home by 6 p.m., while someone else’s parents wanted them home by 3. Another family might not have cared at all. That’s why, wherever you go, it’s so important to learn the rules that govern that space. Otherwise, you risk being a lawbreaker and living in conflict with your environment.

If, in my house, we don’t wake up at 5 a.m. blasting Drake, then don’t come here and start doing it. You will have to leave with your CD and disrespect. Do you see what happened with Eve now? She didn’t lock in to the guidelines that were already in place. They say, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” And in context, I agree. Why would you go to Zimbabwe and try to impose the constitution of South Africa? The people will fight you, and honestly, you may not live to tell the story!

This principle applies to every area of life: work, relationships, church, even school. You have to ask yourself what are the foundations of this place, what keeps it running, what are the rules, what is expected of me, what are the consequences of breaking those rules, how do the people here live, who can I align with, and who is the leader I should follow? Even in marriage it’s the same. You’re not marrying someone who grew up with you under the exact same roof (unless you’re a lunar 🌚). You’re stepping into a whole new system with its own order. Eve had to do the same. She needed to lock in with the rules that were already in place, because that’s how the garden was designed to be run.

“But God told us, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden. You must not even touch it, or you will die.’” But the snake said to the woman, “You will not die.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ICB

Eve finds herself in a conversation with a different kind of animal. This animal speaks. Did animals speak back then? I have no idea but this one did. And here’s what I want to talk about: women often find themselves in conversations. We talk too much. We always want to open our mouths, to explain, to engage and sometimes we struggle to ignore and just keep quiet.

When the snake spoke to Eve, she could have said, “You know what? Talk to Adam. I have no say. I just arrived.” But instead, she engaged. And do you know how many bad relationships we could have avoided if we had just not responded? Eh! A relationship always starts with a conversation. Do you know how many friendships could have been saved if we had just stayed silent when that person came to gossip? How many beautiful things could have stayed beautiful if we had just learned the power of being quiet?

I’m also learning this lesson myself , don’t respond. Women talk everywhere in church, at work, at home. And many times, things fall apart because a woman got into the wrong conversation. So I want us to reflect: what are you saying, and who are you saying it to? Who are you in conversation with right now? Are they good for you? If the answer is no, then do what Eve didn’t do: stop the conversation.

Being Christian doesn’t mean you have to answer every DM. Some of them you shouldn’t even dare open, because they’ll drag you into a den of lions, and trust me those lions will deal with you. Sometimes silence is your greatest weapon. Sometimes you don’t have to respond at all. A marriage ended in divorce because someone couldn’t hold their tongue. A friendship collapsed because someone couldn’t resist clapping back. A destiny was delayed because someone answered a sneaky text. Eve doesn’t only teach us to keep away from sin, she teaches us to keep away from sneaky conversations. Yep, even the ones that start with, “Let’s meet at my house…” Sneaaaaky! Netflix and chill? With who? Boy, leave me alone! Girl, l don’t have the time it’s the last days!

Ladies and gentlemen, the conversations you’re having right now can either birth sin or righteousness. Be careful. Leave some on read. Leave some on gray. Maintain your position as a child of God. See you tomorrow.

🌼Eve [1]

Happy Monday family. I hope we all had a great weekend.

My take away from the weekend is from the service yesterday. The woman of God said, “God is still there, maybe not in the way you want Him to, but He’s still there.” That really struck me because I sometimes expect God to show up a certain way, and when He doesn’t, I start to think He’s not with me. But the truth is, His presence is constant even when it doesn’t look or feel like what I imagined. I want us to reflect on someone in the Bible who actually detached from God: Eve.

We all know the story, but let’s look a little closer and see what we may have missed.

Who is Eve? According to the book of Genesis, she was the first woman, created from the rib of the first man, Adam. Eve wasn’t born like you and I. She didn’t have a mother. She was never conceived. She didn’t spend 9 months in anyone’s womb so nobody could borrow money from her and when it was time to pay, say to her, “I carried you for 9 months!” Nobody played that card with her. Eve came into the world fully grown. She was a woman, not a girl. That means there’s nothing we can study about her childhood or where she grew up. She was formed in Eden, and that’s where she lived with her husband.

Now, let’s look at how she was formed and why. Because I hope you know this: God doesn’t just do things. He has a reason and a purpose for everything. God isn’t just productive; He produces according to purpose. He’s not just after results; His results always have a reason. This helps us understand that God makes no mistakes. He doesn’t occupy Himself with useless adventures or meaningless projects. His works are deliberate, calculated, and designed for a purposeful outcome. Eve, too, was created in purpose and for a purpose. Okay, let’s go to Genesis!

“Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬ AMPC‬

Adam has been created. Everything is already in place, but when God looks at Adam, He sees that although Adam has Him, something is still missing. Sometimes we lie to ourselves and think, “Ah, I have God, so I don’t need people.” But this scripture proves us wrong. God desires that we also have people to fellowship with, even when He is in our lives. Any gospel that says, “Cut everyone off,” is not right.

Adam had no people around him, and God Himself said, “It is not right.” Then God said, “I will make this man a helpmeet.” Before we even study the other words used in this scripture, let us pause here Eve was created as a helpmeet. Not a prostitute. Not a one-night stand. Not a “friends with benefits” girl. Not a side chick. Not a “fornicate with me, I will still marry you.”

And let me also say this: God did not create any woman to be used and raped. No!. God never created Eve for all that. I can even go further to say, child bearing is not the main reason why God created women. He did not create Eve for entertainment at strip clubs, or for exploitation by men. So when women get into those things, they have already missed purpose. A woman who doesn’t know the why of her existence will never fulfil her God-given purpose. There’s so much to study so I will just write and stop where I can.

Now that we’ve established that women were created for a purpose, I advise you to discover your purpose. Where purpose is unknown, time will always be wasted. When God was planning to create Eve, He used words like suitable, complementary, helpmeet, companion, just right. He was not thinking failure. He was not thinking weak. He was not thinking purposeless, ugly, or “less than.” He was not labelling woman with the swear word or any other false identity.

I have to say this so that every identity you have adopted that is not of God may be broken right now. The truth is clear: “The woman was made for the man” (1 Corinthians 11:9).

But understand this properly, Eve was never created to be a feminist.

She was created to help, but with a capacity that was suitable for Adam. In other words, she matched him. That means there was a specification. A type. Someone might say, “The Bible never talks about type.” True, maybe not the word type, but the context shows that Adam needed a certain kind of woman not just anyone. Not just any girl on social media, like some people do today.

Some men say, “I love all women black, white, coloured, Indian I just love all of them. I want all of them. I can handle them. ” Let me be honest with you: you’re a fool.

You are not normal if you want all women. Adam didn’t need all women. He needed one woman his type, his match, his God-ordained companion. Let’s stop here. Eve’s creation has taught us, you were created from a reason probably bigger than you know and understand. Who else can help you discover your purpose than the One who created you?

🌼Orpah {3

I know you’re thinking, “Ah, but what’s left to learn?” I thought the same! But stay with me, and read carefully so you can catch the flow.

We meet Ruth, Naomi, and Orpah at a point of deep loss: all three have lost their husbands, and Naomi has decided to return to Bethlehem. She tells her daughters-in-law, “Go back home.” Ruth refuses, saying, “Ma’am, I’m going with you. Where you go, I will go!” But Orpah, though she weeps, eventually turns back. If you’ve ever written a history essay, you’ll know there are always two sides to an argument , you explore both, then conclude with the stronger side. That’s what we’re kdoing today. Yesterday, we looked at why Orpah was right to leave , the relationship had ended. Today, we’re asking: Why did she choose to go back to the old?

What kind of place was Moab that Ruth didn’t even think about going back? She would rather take the risk of moving to a completely new environment, no friends, no familiar faces, no connections, than return home. She chose to be a foreigner over being comfortable. Why not just go back home like Orpah? That question made me think of Abraham. “Come out from your father’s house!” Leave the place and not just for a visit, but for good. Orpah, when given the same opportunity to step into something new, chose not to take the risk. And sometimes, it’s in taking that risk that we step into our breakthrough.

She returned home to the old idols, the old relationships, the doors God had already shut. She reopened what was meant to stay closed. She went back to the familiar, to the things she had once left behind, to the addictions, to the world, to the old way of living. She walked back into her past when she had the chance to walk forward into her future and this time, with God in it.

This may be a bit sensitive, so please read with care. There are people who have left this world after being given the chance to walk away from abusive relationships. As a counsellor, I understand how abusive environments can shape a mindset that says, “I can’t leave this is where I belong.” But the truth is, everyone comes to a crossroad a moment to choose. To stay or to leave. If you’re in such a place, please see this blog as a guide , a reminder that you do have a chance. PLEASE LEAVE!

Spiritually, we have all been given moments to repent. Yet some of us have gone back to Moab. Back to using charms, herbs, and strange concoctions to get our way. Back to the idols we knew from childhood because “they work.” All the while, ignoring the opportunity to choose Jesus as Lord.

What new opportunities has God placed before you that you’ve ignored simply because they challenge your comfort? Is He telling you to apply for a new job and leave the old one behind? Is He urging you to step out and win souls? Is He inviting you to follow Him to your “Bethlehem” because He knows you’re better off there? Take time to listen. Ask Him to open your eyes to see what He sees.

I hope you’ve caught the drift , this is about choices.

When you stand at the crossroad, which path will you take? And how will that choice shape not only your present, but your future? Some of us left but we are slowly returning to what we left ..

What will it be? Moab or Bethlehem? As for me? I can never turn back o. It’s already too late o. It won’t make sense o. Where am l going to?

Make a choice
