There was a season when a wind of “we will take over nations” blew strongly in the Pentecostal Church, especially among the youth who were trusting God for elevation, whether in ministry or in the work of their hands. It was a powerful sound for sure, full of faith and expectation, full of fire and zeal. With time, however, that wind seemed to cool off. The prayer itself was/is never wrong. In all truth, it is a good and biblical prayer. Children of God are called to influence, to lead, and to shape nations. Scripture tells us,
“For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Romans 8:19–22 NLT
Not to be sarcastic but many people who have prayed this prayer do not have passports. Some may believe they will teleport like Philip. Mind you, it happened once and it was for a short time that he taught the eunuch baptised him and continued the work. As for you and l? We will fly into cities and the authorities with demand for a passport. Nobody is saying you won’t take over nations but how will you get there if you eat your passport money every weekend at KFC. How will you take over nations if you won’t pass by the airport or the boarder? “Ah this year we will take over Europe!” Europe is not next door. It’s not the walk to the shops where you buy airtime and please believe me, I’m not being sarcastic. I’m actually saying faith without works is dead.
Another challenge is not the destination, but the process. You want to take over Africa but in your city or country you have not even won ONE soul. You dodge evangelism. I wrote about occupying through soul winning on Wednesday please look into it. Many want dominion without discipline, influence without instruction, and authority without accountability. We desired crowns but resisted training. We prayed for nations, yet neglected character, consistency, and competence. So which nations are we gonna take over and occupy without first being equipped to? Just name one.
God does not give nations to intentions; He gives them to the prepared. Prepared thoroughly. Do we suppose these nations are vacant? They are not. The Israelites were going to take over Canaan but there were people living in Canaan. Their journey to Canaan was prolonged do we know why? They were not prepared for war. Occupying nations will be war. If you can’t fight off sleep to pray , nations na your mate? You yawn 57 times during prayer and you will now say “This year? Watch the space!” No we won’t watch anything, leave us alone 😂
No better example than Israel. Israel did not teleport to Canaan , people of God. They travelled, they journeyed. They had to eat unusual food, grow in faith, see water come out from a rock , receive the commandments, all this is on a journey to occupy. It was literally on a trip. They had to experience all that so that when they finally step into their place of occupancy, they are not only ready to drive out other people but they can still be called a people of God. Do you know how many people are crying for nations who aren’t built in God? They get there and join the Canaanites in dark practises to their gods. Mind you, many died on their way to occupy nations. Match your zeal with understanding.
“Occupy till I come.” Luke 19:13 (KJV)
There are nations surely waiting for you. Please believe me. Some people need to kill pride. You only want to go to nations as a big man / woman but sometimes you go as a missionary. Nobody knows you. You are serving. You go a few days and scout the land and check out how the businesses are run there. Check out your competitors. Okay , since you want to take over nations, do you know more than five countries ? No. If your vision is that big, keep it before your eyes. Who has noticed that offices of big people have a world globe 🌍 photo or the globe itself on a table?
As of now you may not even know that God will send you to India but you don’t know the four continents 😂 I’m kidding. But keep the vision before you. Start calling out the nations one by one. Kenya, I come to you in the Name of Jesus, open your cities for my business. Nigeria I go through your borders with the good news of Jesus Christ. Australia, the earth is the Lords, I enter your gates with my business idea, in you l will occupy land and build up my home. You are not there yet but you are speaking it , you have the map, the passport, the word, the faith, the diligence, you are serving where you are, tell me why you won’t make it?
I’m trying to get us to understand that prayer is beautiful. We must first take over in the spirit. But if you don’t put things in place, God won’t send you to any nation because you will join them there. You will be much safer in Johannesburg because if He sends you to America and you see Delilah’s Damsels, you have not dealt with lust, you will go there with the gospel and come back sounding like you never ever believed. You will come back asking to re dedicate your life to Jesus.
What’s the first thing you need to have? In business, ministry, career? Your passport. Some people will be called for business meeting abroad , it’s part of their vision board but how they will get there, I don’t know. Maybe an eagle will come and flyyyy them there 😂 then they land on a nest with their suitcase. Put things in order. Learn. Grow. Build capacity. Make friends in other countries! You see this one? You need it. Connect with people in other countries as well. Jesus did not only preach in the temple. He was going from city to city.
I hope we understood . The light of the world is not a battery lamp that shuts down after 5 hrs of use, you must burn continually. Nations are waiting for you, are you ready? See you on Monday, I love you 💕
“The kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High.” Daniel 7:27
