I’ve shared many ways we can occupy, but as I was meditating about what to focus on today on my list, this one stood out for me. Some people thought we would occupy through many other things except this, but I’m telling you, this is one of the most important ways we fulfil the mandate of God. Soul-winning is the heart of God, yet many don’t know this… or don’t care. How many souls did you win in 2025?
“Oh, I didn’t have time.” But you had time for WhatsApp, Instagram and endless scrolling? Nowadays, you can win souls even online. So today we are not talking excuses , we are talking solutions. You must occupy through soul-winning. The Great Commission was not given to a special group; it was given to the entire Church. Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations.”
Matthew 28:19–20 (NLT)
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always,
That means if God has given you ten cities, you occupy them by bringing people in those cities to Christ. We must be a light in Zimbabwe as much as we are in South Africa. You should have fruit in every place God connects you to. When I started learning about soul-winning, I realised how much pride we often have. “I’m shy to talk about Jesus on the streets.” You’re shy of the One who saved you from sin?
I don’t teach self-made doctrine, but I will say this, if you don’t even have one soul that you’ve led to Christ, you are behaving like the servant who buried his talent. Your excitement for conferences versus your laziness for evangelism shows it. Your hunger for sermons about personal success but not for how to win souls proves it. Your burning desire for a spouse but not even one desire to bring someone to Christ shows it. Your prayer lists , 12 prayer points, a vision board, full of money, influence and promotion yet not one prayer saying, “Lord, help me win souls” , shows it. This year must be different.
“But many of the people who heard their message believed it, so the number of men who believed now totalled about 5,000.”

If I don’t tell you these hard truths, then all the “I love you” I say to you means nothing. I love you too much to let you live like everything is fine when souls are perishing. People are waiting for you to speak, to pray, to lead them to Christ. “But people are difficult.” So are you , and God still saved you. If you still have excuses, then why should God give you influence, wealth and platforms? Why, if it won’t be for Kingdom advancement?
The disciples left everything to fish for men. They left boats and nets, took their skills to the field because some people assume that soul winning is for people with nothing to do, no jobs, no education, so they sit with their degrees and refuse to join the labourers. Many people want to use their gifts only for money and applause, but God gave you those gifts so that souls can be saved. People of God, let us wake up.
Intentionally join others when they go out to win souls. Let it become part of your calendar. Let it become part of your vision board. This year I will occupy through evangelism. I will win such and such a number of souls and help them find a good church where they can be discipled. Yesterday I got a voice message from one of my sisters and she was sooooo excited and happy about a soul she won from the kingdom of darkness. Someone who was a priestess of the enemy. Someone who was connecting people to the dead , she came to Christ through this one lady! Tell me if that’s not something to be happy about! She has literally, literally brought in one soul who could’ve led many astray.
The person you win, you may not know the kind of damage they were gonna do in the lives of maybe 5000 people. Simon the sorcerer is one of them. He was brought to the fold after deceiving an entire nation. Refer the book of Acts for this story.
The light of the world must shine. The salt of the earth must not lose its saltiness. This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine. Not in my room. In the world. Your light must shine. Some people don’t even know you are a believer? Ah! How will you occupy then? This year I don’t want friends who are not winning souls! No. I need people who are very serious about this commission. The bible already says the labourers are a few, why don’t we join them and gather harvest for Jesus. Part of my friendship criteria now 😂 will be, are you a soul winner? 😂
I’m committing to reading books this year on how to win souls. I will learn it with the same passion I learn everything else, because soul-winning is not optional , it is mandated. All these gatherings we attend, all these events and conferences , if the purpose is not to transform believers and win the lost, then we are just gathering for vibes. Please don’t invite me if this is not your purpose. That is why this year I am saying, we will occupy nations through the Great Commission. We will take up space. We will occupy. We will fish for men in our streets, in our cities, and in other parts of the world. We are not maintaining steeze while people are perishing in sin. Selah
