Worship Wednesday

It’s Worship Wednesday! Guys life is so fast. I was in church just now then tadaaaa it’s midweek. Do you realise that we’re getting older and older (I need a certain sticker from my WhatsApp) I can’t believe I’m almost 😅 let me khawm down.
Let’s finish up on Mrs Adam’s story.

I often wonder why the serpent approached Eve and not Adam. Honestly, I have no definite answer. But perhaps he knew if the one called to help falls, then the one being helped will eventually stumble too. I don’t think he went for her right away; he must have studied her.

Yesterday we said, watch the conversations you entertain. And here we see Eve locked in a back-and-forth with the devil. He speaks, she responds. He twists, she considers. Until eventually, his words convince her. Do you know how faith is built? By hearing words. If Eve had not listened, she wouldn’t have fallen. Words carry power whether you hear them or speak them. The enemy spoke long enough until she started believing his lie.

It’s the same way a boy can “toast” you on the phone for an hour until you start believing he’s your husband. Or how an abuser can call you names long enough until you start believing you’re worthless. It’s not just the conversation that matters , it’s also the length of it. The longer you stay, the more dangerous it becomes. And so, Eve’s perception shifts. That ordinary fruit she passed by daily suddenly looks different. Maybe it tastes good. Maybe I should try it. Maybe I’ve been missing out.

Eve found herself in a position where her worship was compromised. She had to choose: Do I remain in fellowship with God, or do I choose this other option? We all know what happened. She took the fruit, ate it, and gave it to Adam and he ate too. Women, do you see the power you carry? If mishandled, our influence can easily sway others in the home, at work, even in the church. The truth is, the best marketeers are women. You’ll buy something you don’t even need simply because of how a woman presents it! Some say Eve learned this from the devil. I don’t know if we truly “learn” from him, but I know this: what happened in Eden was not just about a piece of fruit. It was about compromised worship. Compromised fellowship. Compromised communion with God.

Sisters, the enemy is after your worship. That’s why you’re constantly attacked with offence, heart-noise, and emotional rollercoasters. Because when it’s time to worship, when the Lord calls for your alabaster box, you might say: No, I still want to argue. I still want to complain. What was lost in Eden was not just positioning, but the correct posture of worship. Jesus had to restore it when He said, “The Father seeks those who worship in spirit and in truth.” That was the way worship originally was until disobedience compromised it.

And when God came into the garden, He had to call out, “Adam, where are you?” Adam’s place of companionship was empty. The enemy had used Eve’s influence to cut us off from sweet, beautiful fellowship with the Lord. So today, I am calling women back to the place of genuine worship. And I am calling men back to the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Will you worship Him today?
