May you never compromise for anything. May your feet be kept from slipping and falling. May you stand in the valleys and the mountain tops. May your day be filled with miracles, signs, wonders and supernatural workings of God! We are on for part 2 of The mindset required to occupy.
I am certain that we are all familiar with teachings on how your mind plays a vital role in who you are or become. A thief has a mindset to steal , yes there is a spirit involved but their mind also tells them that theft is okay which in turn has created an identity. As a man thinks so is he. You are what and who you think you are.I am reminded of the spies sent to Canaan, they were trusted with a mission but they could not accomplish it well because of a mindset. Mindsets shape how you view the world, yourself and others.
This truth should set you free from some relationships you have built. Do you know why birds of the same feathers flock together? It has nothing to do with feathers actually, it speaks to same nature, same mindset, same mentality. Why do they keep animals of the same species in one cage at the zoo? They are catering to a nature and a mindset. There are high chances that the same animals put in a cage won’t be a danger to each other but once you put another of a different kind, there is likely to be either a fight or a death. The people you are flocking with, it’s not even about coming from the same school, it is the fact that you have the same mindset. Any other person with a different mindset would not fit into your circle.
Back to the spies, it’s amazing how they viewed themselves , which is what I want to address today. You cannot occupy unless you know who you are. You cannot occupy unless you have at least a healthy perspective of yourself. The pity party and self pity shows we run must come to an end. It will amaze you if you have never read that passage of scripture that, out of all those spies only those with a different mindset occupied. The rest never occupied, never. They never set their feet in that land again. God can give you a vision that you can crash with your own mindset.
God can show you a land flowing with milk and honey and you interpret it as a land with poverty because your mindset interprets things to you to the level of your understanding and mental capacity. The mind of a child works to the level of its own capacity. When you get to a certain age you are expected to put away childish ways, but the same childish ways were accepted at a particular time. Why are they not acceptable now? Because there is an expectation that your mind grows. There are people who have a childish mind towards the mandate to occupy. Children don’t occupy, all they do is tag along. Surely you don’t want that for yourself?
God has plans for you but to fulfil them, you need to work on your mind. Unfortunately, to do so, you have to fully participate. This means to pray and cast down any thought patterns, this means study, this means making decisions , this means making a U-turn or a new turn. Your mind is needed where you will occupy. Canaan is seen differently by those with a different mindset. Some of you don’t even have any mindset to occupy. Some do. Some plan to tag along.
I say it again, if by December you have not occupied, we won’t blame anyone, we will have proof of your mental health. I hope you know mental health does not just address stuff like depression but also small mindedness. What you don’t conceive in the mind, you won’t birth in the physical. This means , your results right now, even if you argue from today till March 2027, what is in your hands right now is a reflection of what’s in your mind because others were in the same situation as you but they have different results. Remember scripture says your situation is not strange, it’s the same for many brothers & sisters but how come they have one or two or three results? I will wrap up by saying, work on your mind, daily and your mind will drive you to places you never imagined you’d be. Places to occupy. Caleb & Joshua had a mindset, together they occupied Canaan.
