Her Journey The Overcoming Believer

Women in our world🌸

Hello! 🌺 My name is Vanessa and I am your blogger. I have quite the namesssss, I suppose my parents were so excited to have me they couldn’t really stick to one name, or two, or three. Yep. I’ve got 4 names. As in 1, 2, 3, 4. All for one person. Not that I’m complaining. Just thought to let you know. I’m the kind of person many people think they know. When I hear people say, ā€œI know you, V,ā€ in my head I’m like, you know 30%, my dear. You haven’t even scratched the surface.

Some of you who ā€œknowā€ me are only discovering today that I have a truckload of names, not that I want to be known 100% by anyone, that’s for myself & God. Let me re-introduce myself. My name is Vanessa (means butterfly), Anesu (means God is with us), Nokwanda (means mother of growth or increase), the last one is not important right now šŸ˜‚! Pleased to meet you, dear reader.

This month, as I already said, we will be looking at women. I want us to be encouraged, inspired and motivated. By the way, not to sound feminist, but this is not a man’s world, neither is it a woman’s world. This is our world, inclusive of both genders. It’s not for one particular gender and the other is squeezing in for space. You will understand just what I mean when you see the women I will blog about this month. Your eye go clear. You will shine your mind. God has women out there eh! The Kingdom of God has women, Kai!

As a woman, I’ve discovered that it’s very easy to struggle with identity. I say this because I’m many things. I don’t have one definition. I’m like a tree with many branches. While all that is going on, I may forget that I’m a whole tree and focus on just being a branch, neglecting the bigger picture because of a mindset I find many women having. Women are living and acting like leaves. People who are the whole tree are content with just being an orange. This series is meant to illuminate your mind and stop you from thinking small. If you’re a man, please share these blogs with the women or a woman you know.

If you look at the picture above, you will have a rough idea of who I am. It looks informative, but it’s a rough draft. What I mean to say is, some of us have settled for the rough draft of who we are or who we could be. Your bio says, ā€œDaughter of Zion.ā€ Do you really understand what that means? If you ask around, you will be shocked to hear words like, ā€œAh, I’m just a daughter of Zion,ā€ with no understanding of the depth those words carry.

Many people do not know who they are to the very core, so you can give them any identity and they will absorb it and live it. That’s why when someone says they are ugly, they believe it. That’s why when they are told negative things on social media, they take it in. If you are the kind of person who quickly attaches yourself to negative things, something is wrong with you. I’m really not joking, something is at fault.

Another thing is, because these are reflections on my own life, I’ve discovered that many women don’t dream big. They think so small. Their world is so tiny. I’m a big, big dreamer. I was telling one of my pastors that I’m such a big dreamer. I don’t think at a national level, for me, that is still small thinking. What l am l gonna do with just one country? That’s suffocating. I think global. Do you want to know how I got there? I befriended knowledge.I’m curious about information. I’m saying to you, the little world you are currently existing in is not proof of a lack of exposure to knowledge.

By knowledge, I’m not talking about science and maths because I failed those anyways. Many other women didn’t go to school, but they built conglomerates and are on the world’s lists of impactful people. By knowledge, I mean information. If I had to ask you, who is Africa’s wealthiest woman? What does she do? How did she get there? What lessons can we learn from her? I bet you many people here have no idea. We want to build wealth, but we have never picked up a book about it. I don’t want to lie to you, when I see small-mindedness, I feel sad. At the same time, I am careful not to borrow that mindset. It’s a danger to you. A health hazard, or rather, a purpose hazard.

ā€œI want to build a business but I will not do social media or websites. My clients will come, angels are at work.ā€ Proceeds to pray in tongues. Hmmm, girlie! Am I saying angels won’t help? No. You’re giving them extra work though. Have you studied the thriving Christian businesses? You know why you can Google them? They put themselves out there. You, with a business that is still crawling, are proudly saying you won’t do marketing. Pride will kill potential o.

Proverbs 18:15 (NLT)

ā€œIntelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge.ā€

I have a serious zeal to push people forward. If I meet someone with a gift, talent or skill, provided they are not mean, I will suggest ideas for them to grow in their craft. There are people I’ve tried to help a million times, but they thought I was probably struggling to mind my own business, when I was just excited to see such potential. Can l share something else with you that women of now struggle with? Learning from each other. We have the ā€œyou can’t tell me anythingā€ mentality, and that’s why we are often at odds. Let me tell you what happened just a day ago.

I went for an event with two of my pastors. The trip was an hour, so we had a lot to talk about. They started speaking, and all I did was observe, learn and receive. Where I could contribute, I did so. They thought I was just having conversations, but I was there taking notes. I was excited to find out why God took me there. I’d be a fool to think l just ā€œtaggedā€ along. God had a reason why. This kept me very attentive.

As women, even men actually, let’s be very intentional about learning from other people. Also, let’s find out, ā€œLord, why did You send me here? Why did You give me this person as a friend? Why am I in this country? Why did I meet this person? What am I supposed to learn in this season?ā€ Not every meeting is just a coincidence. Do you think God has nobody else in another country to read the blog? He has. But He brought you.

Do you think you’re that talented just for steeze? Do you really think you are at that age because the world can’t do without you? Baby, the world can do without anyone except Christ. Many heroes died. You are here for a reason. Which leads me to the conclusion, why are you on earth? What’s your purpose? If you haven’t discovered it, perhaps that’s why you’re often tossed by the wind. You are a tree without roots.

Just thought to share a few things I’ve learned from my own life, as a young Christian woman. See you tomorrow.🌺
