Women in the bible🌸

In the Bible, we find many women, different women, with different stories, backgrounds, personalities, experiences, purposes, and destinies.

I remember a book I once read about the women in the Bible. I will upload it for you to download. It explored their different attributes, the things they were known for, their roles, their lifestyles, their areas of influence and impact, and even the ways in which their lives had either positive or negative consequences. Some were married, some had children, some experienced rejection, some experienced great influence. Some were godly women, while others were evil. They came from different societies, different circumstances, and different walks of life.

I think one of the things every woman should consider doing is studying the women in the Bible. Take time to list them. Go through their stories. Read the Scriptures concerning them. Study their decisions, their relationships, their strengths, their weaknesses, their victories, their failures, their encounters with God, and the impact their lives had on the people around them. We have so much to learn from the women in the Bible and I’ll tell you why.

Firstly, studying the women in the Bible shows us that God loves women and is mindful of women. God’s mind concerning women is not the same as the mindset many people have carried throughout history or even continue to carry today. God deliberately included women in Scripture. He allowed their stories to be told. He allowed their choices, their victories, their failures, their pain, their courage and their faith to become part of the story through which generations would learn about Him.

The truth is, people have mishandled women. I follow a page on Instagram that, over the past week, has posted almost daily about women who have been killed. A woman somewhere has been shot. Another has been killed by a stranger. Another by a man she was in a relationship with. Another by her husband. Another woman is found killed and hidden in a suitcase. When you see these stories repeatedly, you begin to realise something horrifying, every day, there is someone somewhere who has decided that a woman’s life is worth nothing.

That person doesn’t always look like the monster we imagine. With horns and what what . You see them in an Uber. You may sit next to them in a restaurant. You may work with them. They may be your neighbour, your colleague, your classmate, or someone you met on the street. You don’t necessarily know what someone believes about women simply because they are kind to you.

A woman can meet a man and think, ā€œWow, this is a loving man. He is going to love me for the rest of my life.ā€ Ohhh he’s hot. He’s this and that. He buys her flowers. She’s never received flowers before so that’s a green flag to her. He buys her food. She looooves food. She’s never eaten free food so once you say KFC, her heart races faster than mine one day when a dog chased me. He buys her gifts. She’s a show off who shows media everything so here’s some content to show her friends. ā€œWhen your man does abcā€ .. He takes her out. She’s happy. Butterflies all over. Yeyi! He says all the right things. She has already caught feelings but guess what she may still not know what he believes about women.

Women, a gift does not automatically reveal the condition of someone’s heart or the way they understand your humanity. Some of these men did all those things and more but their mindset on women still wicked! I really wonder,What kind of mindset or heart do some people have? This is why I find it so powerful that God put women in the Bible. He didn’t say, ā€œWomen are unnecessary, so let’s leave them out.ā€ We’re not left out.

He allowed women to carry promises. He allowed women to demonstrate faith. He allowed women to lead. He allowed women to serve. He allowed women to influence nations. He allowed women to encounter Him. He allowed women to be part of the lineage of Christ. He allowed the world to learn something about Him through the stories of women. Think about that. As in selaaaaaaaah!God allowed the world to learn about dimensions of Himself through women.

Women are not an afterthought in God’s story. And perhaps this is one of the reasons we need to return to these stories. Because when society has distorted the value of women, Scripture reminds us of how God sees them. Please read that book. I’m actually tired of a society that struggle with so much but refuse to read. Read and find understanding and acquire knowledge to fix that low self esteem problem you are having. Sometimes it’s just knowledge you need. Get it!

As you go through this book, I pray that the Lord will enlighten you, even to the point of helping you find yourself, to find the woman that you are in the Bible, to find the story that is unique to you, so that you may be able to pick up the parts of yourself that you felt were missing or grey. Sometimes, when we study the lives of others, we discover parts of ourselves that we had not yet understood.

I did a series on the women of the Bible last year, so this year we are doing a series on the women that we know, the women that we may not know, the women who are around us, and the women who are making an impact in our world. We are talking about women in ministry, women in finance, women in tech, women in media, women in fashion, and women across different spheres of influence.

So, if you know a woman who is quite influential, whether globally, across Africa, or even within your own community, please drop her name in the comments. I think we have so much to learn from the women around us. Some of these women, actually MOST of these women, we don’t even know personally, but they are women whose lives deserve to be studied. We can look at their journeys and ask, How did she get there? What did she learn? What did she overcome? What can I learn from her?

I think one of the greatest things you can do for your destiny is to learn from people. Learn. I was talking to a friend of mine last week, and I was telling them that one of the things I have had to learn in this season is that, yes, I knew God could use anybody, but now I am actually living it. God is using different people, people younger than me, people my age, people older than me, to teach me things. I have had to learn to sit down and be quiet sometimes because, in that moment, I am the one learning. I am not there to prove that I know more. I am not there to make sure I have something to contribute. I am there to receive.

Have the humility to realise that you can learn from someone. You don’t always have to contribute. You don’t have to say your part, your ten cents, your two cents, your one cent, or any cent at all. You don’t have to drop a bomb every time you enter a conversation. Sometimes, you simply sit and listen. This brings me to something completely unrelated, but since this is my blog, and you came here to read my blog, let me write what I want to write. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

One of the skills I genuinely think people need to learn is how to listen. When someone sends you a message or calls you, listen. Particularly as women, I think sometimes we can be very reactive. Listen to understand. Don’t read a text just to fight. Don’t read a text while sharpening your response. Listen to understand what the person is actually saying. Learn to listen before you respond. Listen well. Some of us have heightened emotions, and sometimes someone does something and immediately, everything in us reacts. Please give yourself a moment. Listen. Understand. Then respond.

Anyway, that was completely unrelated. I just thought I should throw that in since this is my blog. Maybe it was for someone I don’t know o but take it home. You argue a lot because you don’t listen to people, you want them to listen to you. I’ll see you tomorrow. We are starting with women in ministry. I have a couple of women I am going to feature here, women whom I believe are worthy of us studying, learning from, and discovering their journeys. See you tomorrow yielded people . I laaarv you!

If you read my blogs but have never met this  Wonderful Jesus that I’m always writing about,  you’d love to get to know Him, Or you know The Lord but have found yourself drifting far from Him, I would love to talk with you.
