Reflection Friday

looking into the mirror for

Positive growth.

Happy Friday, my Yielded people! Growing up, I loved Fridays because they meant no school on the weekend. But now, I love them even more because they give us a chance to pause, reflect, and look into the mirror. Oh, and of course, because Sunday is just around the corner! I absolutely love being in God’s temple. I’m definitely an altar girl; I just want to live there LOL! How has your week been? And how are YOU? Have you told your friends about Special Edition Thursdays?

Every time I look in the mirror, I always find something to tweak maybe adjusting my hair, blending my makeup a little more, switching out my earrings for a different pair, or debating between lip gloss and lipstick (lip gloss wins most times). All of this is because I’m trying to perfect a certain look, an image I want to present to the world. The person I see in the mirror is the same person who steps out and meets others. You don’t leave the house with a black wig and suddenly arrive at the store with a blonde one. There’s no sudden, magical transformation. That’s why it’s so important to work on your image in the secret place first!

You want the world to see a neat lady or a well-groomed gentleman? Then bathe, clean up, dress well, and step out as that. The mistake we often make is thinking, They’ll just accept me as I am.” Well, if you’re breaking up with your toothbrush, you’ll soon notice that even your closest friends will start keeping their distance when you speak. In the same way, if you don’t work on your character, people will walk away from you.

Please don’t listen to anyone who encourages you to keep bad habits or a bad attitude. Look into the mirror and fix it. You have to step out knowing, this is the version of me the world will see. And if you’re sharp, you’ve already caught on, this isn’t about looks. It’s about the image of your heart.

“Only God can see my heart.” Very well then! But shouldn’t we clean up for the Most Important One to see? If we truly believe that only God sees our hearts, then by keeping the mess in there, aren’t we showing that we don’t care if He sees it?

My mother loves to sing a song that says, “You cannot hide it from God.” And truly, you cannot. How do you put on red lipstick and expect people not to notice it? Some things naturally attract attention—your heart is one of them. It draws the attention of God first, and eventually, people.

It’s Reflection Friday, how’s your image looking? Shall we pass each other the sponge to blend in some harsh lines? Shall we share the toothpaste? Shall we leave the room so you can fix the lace? Do you need a little more sharpness on your cut, gentleman? Maybe another visit to the barber? What’s the next step?

🌼🌸Again, this is not about looks. Let’s get fixing! I love you all! 🌸🌼
