Worship Wednesday

“Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭15‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Isn’t it amazing how, when you start a song, someone nearby will likely join in? Joy is contagious, and so is sadness. Welcome to Worship Wednesday!

Today, we intentionally focus on praise and worship. Try it and see how your entire day shifts! Fill your space with worship, let your playlist reflect His glory, and let your prayers be soaked in adoration. Not that we don’t worship every day, but today, we’re making it our priority. Like Miriam, I invite you take your timbrel, lift your voice, and let’s rejoice in the Lord together!

I have the best time when I dance before my God! I even tell the Holy Spirit, “Watch me dance!” I picture myself right before the throne my Abba watching, laughing with joy. I may not be the best dancer, but my heart condition is what matters most! Can you imagine how God smiled when He saw Miriam dance? How the other women joined in their voices rising in song, hands clapping!!

You know I got you with those songs suggestions!!

Hunger

Hunger is the physical sensation of needing food, often caused by an empty stomach and a drop in blood sugar levels. It is the body’s way of signalling that it requires nourishment to function properly.

I get hungry at the most ridiculous times like 2 a.m or 6 a.m. And when hunger strikes, it doesn’t come quietly it brings a headache, mood swings, and a personal attack on my patience. Let’s be honest, nobody likes being hungry. That’s why fasting is a struggle. We want the spiritual growth, but a 21-day fast? Now that’s a whole survival challenge. The entire day becomes a game of “how much longer?” By 17:57, you’re already hovering in the kitchen like an undercover agent, you open the fridge 30 times 😂 You check the time so often, something you never do. And let’s not forget the ones who fantasise in extreme detail about the meal you’ll destroy at sundown. Hunger is just desire on hold, a desire unfulfilled. Let’s talk about spiritual hunger.

I’ve come to realise that it’s not that God has given everything He has and now has nothing left to pour no, that’s not the case at all. The issue is that there are no more empty jars to receive the oil. Think about it if a jar is already full, why would you keep pouring? That would just be a waste, right? The truth is, many people are full but not with what they should be. Full of themselves, full of pride, full of bitterness. And then they lift their hands, singing, “Fill me up, God.” How? Explain the science. You’re asking for a refill when you’re already at capacity! Where is God supposed to pour? Our hunger is already satisfied—just not by Him. And until we empty ourselves, there will be no room for more.

Complete this verse ..

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they ____________”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If you don’t know it, eh let me remind you. The Word says you’re blessed when you hunger and thirst for righteousness because only then will you be filled. That means the key to being filled isn’t just asking, it’s hunger.

Now, while there’s a limit to how much food your physical stomach can handle at a time, there are no limits in God. The only limit is you the size of your spiritual belly. So, the real question is: What’s occupying your spiritual tummy? Is it the Word? Or is it anger, offense, people’s opinions? Some of us are so desperate to be seen and validated by the world that we have spiritual ulcers all because we keep consuming junk and poison. And then we wonder why we’re weak, why we’re empty, why we can’t seem to be satisfied. The truth is, whatever you feed on is what will fill you. Read the last part again.

If all I eat is rice and chicken, there’s no way I’m going to vomit beef and pap. Why? Because that’s not what I consumed! That’s not what satisfied my hunger. If you say you want to represent God? Alright. But if your spiritual tummy were to be X-rayed, or if you had to vomit spiritually right now, what would come out? What have you been feeding on? The fruit from the center of the garden? Gossip? Pride? Selfish ambition?

Here’s the thing if you’re truly hungry for God, there’s no way you won’t chase after Him. It’s just like when you’re fasting. You keep walking into the kitchen, opening the fridge, staring at the food you can’t eat, hoping time will move faster. Why? Because you know where your hunger will be satisfied. That’s the same way you should wait in God’s presence because you know that’s where your desire will be met. But you claim to have spiritual hunger, and you’re nowhere near His presence? What kind of fake hunger is that?

If you hunger and thirst for sin, guess what? You’ll be filled. Either way, your hunger will be satisfied. The question is , what are you eating? We all know there’s food that’s bad for the stomach, and spiritually, sin is that food.

How much of God you get depends on how much of Him you want. Look at Moses he spent 40 days on Mount Sinai, eating and drinking nothing! And yes, I know you just opened your mouth in shock because you leave church early after two hours because you’re “so hungry.” But Moses? He was feeding on something greater the presence of God.

HUNGER, people of God! H-U-N-G-E-R! A desire! A longing! 40 days! What was he living on? The presence! And let me tell you , you will never grow beyond your diet. Some of us are spiritually weak, malnourished, and barely surviving because we simply don’t eat well. If your spiritual health report were printed right now, even you wouldn’t believe the results! Kwashiorkor!

Listen! Are you thirsty for more? Come to the refreshing waters and drink. Even if you have no money, come, buy, and eat. Yes, come and buy all the wine and milk you desire— it won’t cost a thing.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭1‬ ‭TPT‬‬

It’s even free. And we all know that people like free food! So what’s our prayer today?

Father, I come before You today with a deep desire for more of You. Lord, give me a hunger for You that cannot be quenched by anything else. Let me drink from Your living waters, and may my soul never thirst again. I pray that my hunger be channeled in the right direction, that I may not be like Esau, seeking fulfillment in the wrong places.Lord, I acknowledge that I am not satisfied with where I am spiritually. I know I am not growing because I am not eating the right things. When I do eat, I have often consumed things that are harmful to my spirit, things that are destroying me. But today, I make a decision to hunger and thirst for righteousness.Father, fill me up with Your presence! Nourish my soul, renew my mind, and make me more like You. I long for Your Word, I long for Your Spirit, and I long to grow deeper in You. Thank You for filling me, Lord, and for satisfying my deepest desires. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Welcome to the best days of your life! ❤️‍🔥

Beyond what you thought you knew

My Yielded People, I love you! I sincerely apologise for not showing up last week it was due to unforeseen circumstances. However, I am grateful because, during that time, I discovered a deep well in the Spirit that has been truly refreshing to me.

I love to write, but more than beautifully crafted words, my desire is to share something that truly nourishes your soul. What I have for you today is like a treasure chest filled with precious stones and the sweetest of fragrance so read carefully and open heartedly. Just an announcement : please note that Mama Alice’s interview will be published this coming Thursday.

I’ve been a Christian for a long time, and what a journey it has been. When you first receive Christ, you’re like a newborn baby. At first, a baby only recognizes their mother by instinct. But as the days go by, their eyes begin to distinguish colors, faces, and voices. It’s a process.

And so it is in the Spirit day by day, you grow. The problem is, many are “growing” but still unable to recognize their Mother’s face. I use the image of a mother because she is the one closest to the child, nurturing and sustaining them. So tell me, after all the years you’ve spent as a Christian, can you confidently say you know God? Guess what? Before last week, I also thought I did. Not to downplay what I’ve known or experienced, but I was introduced to something I never knew before. A depth in God that I hadn’t yet encountered. I cannot explain it.

It all started with a deep hunger to study the Word. I structured my studies and initially followed the YouVersion method but I soon ditched it, lol, and created my own. If you’re looking to read the entire Bible and know you struggle with discipline, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s a great guide to keep you on track.

As I studied, I embarked on a new journey of one wow after another. Many people encounter God through prayer and worship, but there’s another powerful place of encounter: THE BIBLE! Don’t just read for the sake of reading ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God to you through His Word.

There are things you can teach someone, and then there are things each person must discover for themselves. Who is this God we say we love? Who is this God we say we serve? Who is He? What is His character like? Is He truly the form of the lamb we see in paintings? How great is He? And what does He expect from you and l?

Beloved, let me tell you there are discoveries to be made. And guess what? Even those who confidently say, “I know Him,” there is still more to discover. It’s like digging for gold. When you strike gold, something within you whispers, “There must be more here keep digging.” So keep digging for more. I remember just sitting on my bed, thinking, Wow… how have I never known this? How have I been living with such little knowledge of God? I’ve read the Word countless times, but now it was as if something had unveiled my eyes. I was seeing. I was hearing. I was encountering. I was being transformed. I had just embarked on a journey to only God knows where. So why am I sharing this with you?

“There is more”

We say this so often, yet we don’t always yearn for the more. I don’t know how much of Him you desire, but it all starts with a decision to start. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Learn to recognise when He is in a place. Learn to hear His voice so clearly that when others speak, their words are only confirmations not the first time you’re hearing Him. Learn what He doesn’t like. Get to know this God whose name is on your social media bio.

Beyond what you already know, there is more to know. And when you find it, it will be like a treasure you’ll never trade for anything.

Here is Jeremiah 9:23-24 in (MSG):

“God’s Message: Don’t let the wise brag of their wisdom. Don’t let heroes brag of their exploits. Don’t let the rich brag of their riches. If you brag, brag of this and this only: That you understand and know me. I’m God, and I act in loyal love. I do what’s right and set things right and fair, and delight in those who do the same things. These are my trademarks.”

God’s Decree.

Facing the storm with Jesus [2]

Yesterday, we reflected on the story of the disciples facing a storm with Jesus. Even though the storm raged around them, He was right there with them. And here’s the amazing truth you face every storm with Him too! He doesn’t just walk beside you; He lives within you. You are never alone. You are never forsaken.

A few weeks ago, I felt deeply discouraged. Normally, even in difficult moments, I find a way to break free whether by dancing or encouraging myself in the Lord. But during those two weeks, I couldn’t even do that. I felt like Elijah when he cried out, “Lord, take my life!” I was ready to meet with my crush, Joseph LOL! Yet, even in my weakness, God revived me. He reminded me that He is always there. So, if you’re in a storm right now, don’t lose heart. He is with you. Hold on your breakthrough is coming. Please believe God!

The disciples woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We’re going to die!” But Jesus reprimanded them. “Why are you gripped with fear? Where is your faith?” Then he stood and rebuked the storm, saying, “Be still!” And instantly it became perfectly calm. The disciples were astonished by this miracle and said to one another, “Who is this Man? Even the wind and waves obey his Word.

Jesus slept so soundly that the disciples had to wake Him up. He was fully aware of the storm, yet He wasn’t moved by it. That’s the kind of peace He gives so deep that even in the middle of chaos, we can rest. Sometimes, we go through incredibly difficult situations, yet the peace of God keeps us so steady that those around us begin to wonder. “You just lost a child, how’re are you still joyful?” or “Didn’t you just go through a tough season? How are you still serving the Lord like this?” People often expect us to break down, to throw tantrums, to lose ourselves in the storm.

But my dhiye, you can have Jesus in your life and still face storms. In fact, having Jesus in the boat often attracts storms. Yet, at the same time, having Jesus in the boat is what shields you from being destroyed by them. The winds may blow, and the waves may rise, but with Jesus, you can be sure of one thing you will make it to the other side.

Jesus didn’t just rebuke the storm, He addressed their fear. Storms often come to instill fear, and fear has power. What you fear, you attract. Fear is like faith in the enemy, it’s believing his lies, expecting his destruction, and being convinced that he will harm you.

What you fear often happens to you. I love that Jesus didn’t just rebuke the storm. Sometimes it’s not enough to get the answer, you need to learn what to do when the answer hasn’t come so that next time you don’t repeat the same thing. While the best of us can face trials that shake us, Jesus still says DO NOT FEAR. Jesus slept because He wasn’t afraid. He wasn’t even bothered because He had faith in God! He knew that was not His end, drowning was not part of His story. Knowing what God has told you also helps to factor out some panic attacks. I know for a fact that dying young is not part of my story. Even if the enemy threatens which he has many times, it’s not part of my story so it won’t happen.

That’s the power of knowing what God has spoken over your life. It helps you silence panic and stand firm.! Know what God says and you will be shielded from so many attacks. The way out of the storm is faith not fear.

To every storm harassing you, we declare in agreement, PEACE , be still!

Facing the storm with Jesus

🌼Happy Monday, family! A brand-new week is here, and I love the fresh start it brings. There’s something about Mondays that makes me feel energised, like I’m setting the tone for something new. Well, this is unpopular but I actually love Mondays! 🌼🙃

“They all got into a boat and began to cross over to the other side of the lake. And Jesus, exhausted, fell asleep. Suddenly a violent storm developed, with waves so high the boat was about to be swamped. Yet Jesus continued to sleep soundly.
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8‬:‭23‬-‭27‬ ‭TPT‬‬

This well-known Bible story begins with a group setting out in a boat, determined to reach the other side of the lake. They had a clear purpose for their journey, most likely making careful plans and even checking the weather. Everything must have seemed ideal for sailing otherwise, the Bible wouldn’t have described the storm as sudden. It caught them completely off guard. They hadn’t anticipated it; they weren’t prepared. If they had known, they might have chosen a different day to travel. These were experienced men of the sea who understood the dangers of the water. Surely, they wouldn’t have set sail if they had seen any sign of a storm. Their goal was to get across, but most importantly, they wanted to live. Storms can come suddenly.

“They were celebrating at the wedding, the picture of a perfect couple. But now… what is all this?” And then you laugh foolishly not understanding that storms can arise suddenly.

Think about it, humans naturally avoid danger. We don’t walk in the middle of the road because we know the risk of getting hit is almost certain. We don’t play carelessly with knives or guns because we understand the harm they can cause. In the same way, the disciples weren’t recklessly sailing into danger. They weren’t expecting trouble some storms come without warning. While men slept, they assumed they could rest as well. But unexpectedly, the enemy came and sowed tares. Not every trial people face is a result of poor preparation or failure on their part. Some challenges come simply because storms don’t always announce their arrival.

Today, we will focus on Part A of this scripture and continue with the rest tomorrow.

The Bible says, “Suddenly, there came a violent storm.” This storm wasn’t just unexpected it was violent. And anything violent naturally stirs up fear. The Bible repeatedly warns us to stay away from violent people because violence is a trait of the enemy. Not only was the storm fierce, but the waves rose so high that the boat was on the verge of crashing. I can only imagine that water was pouring in, soaking everything, heightening the chaos.

But here’s the most fascinating part Jesus continued to sleep soundly. Hayi, pause and selah.

I know for a fact I wasn’t gonna be sleeping on that trip. First of all I don’t like cruising, all those titanic things are just not my vibe. I want to be where I have the liberty to run when danger comes. I can’t swim in a normal pool so in the lake it means I will not even survive. So no. Do your cruise things guys. Anyway, Jesus slept.

The boat is filling with water, the men are in full-blown panic mode, shouting over one another, trying to figure out what to do. The storm is roaring, the waves are crashing with force. Maybe Peter is yelling, “Steer this way!” and James is arguing, “No, that way!” Chaos is everywhere. And yet, in the middle of all this, Jesus continues to sleep, soundly. Not just dozing off, but truly at rest, completely unbothered. He was relaxed, at peace, just chilling.
Have you ever truly rested in the middle of a storm?

When you lost that job, how did you respond? When all your carefully laid-out plans fell apart and your life turned upside down, did you still manage to sleep peacefully? Or did the weight of uncertainty keep you up at night? It’s one thing to have peace when all is well, but can you rest when the storm is raging? That’s something that even l have to learn. The truth is, sleeping is usually the last thing we do when we’re in the middle of a storm.

We stress all night. We sit up calculating our next move from 8 PM, and before we know it, it’s 4 AM our stress levels have skyrocketed from 10 to 5000. Sleep? That’s the furthest thing from our minds. And in our thoughts there’s a so much noise , “You need to act fast! Drop this prayer thing and find a solution. ‘Be still’ isn’t working can’t you see the water flooding the boat? Your husband is about to leave go seek help somewhere else!”

The enemy applies relentless pressure, making it impossible to sit still. You pace back and forth. You scratch your head. You sigh a billion times. You panic. And yet… Jesus slept. Soundly.

Why? How? Can you do that? If you’re in a storm right now, are you still like Jesus or you’re on panic mode like the disciples? What’s your response?
