How to stop masturbating 2

If you study this well, you will notice that the very beginning of an addiction is rarely the most harmful part. It simple. It easy. It begins with something almost everyone does, thinking. You just think like this and next thing, your body starts peppering you. The root of every addiction is found in our thoughts. Before you engage in self-pleasure, you first thought about it. It is not merely thinking about it that becomes the bigger problem, but dwelling on those thoughts long enough for them to translate into action. That’s why I refuse to believe that people just fell into cheating. Wena! Don’t lie to us. Your mind cooked it before o.

Many people follow their minds, but only on rare occasions does the mind follow them. In other words, you become what you think. You go where your mind goes, and you follow where your thoughts lead. Scripture gives us light on this when it says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” The addiction to masturbation begins in the mind. When your thoughts entertain certain images, your body eventually follows with an action. If you look at the image above, you will notice that immediately after a thought comes a complying action. You can’t be thinking about women’s curves and men’s six packs and think you won’t feel fire in your bones, you will o. Hot fire will soon catch up with you.

People rarely rebel against their own minds. The natural person finds it difficult to control their thoughts, which is why the Word of God teaches that the mind we need in order to live a godly life is the mind of Christ. If you want to stop masturbating, start by checking your thoughts. The thing about thoughts is that they grow if they are continually entertained. If you do not stop a thought the moment it suggests something to you, it rarely stays at that level. It may begin with imagining a naked person, but if you continue feeding that thought, it can progress to, “Why are you only thinking about it when you can actually watch it?”

From there, many people are drawn into pornography, and for some, unchecked lust can develop into increasingly harmful and destructive behaviours like rape. People have raped children because they couldn’t stop thinking about sex. Sin has a way of escalating when it is repeatedly entertained. It always escalates . The longer you contemplate something, the stronger the desire to act on it can become. Sexual thoughts are harmful if you continue feeding them, they often intensify and create a stronger urge to seek gratification. This is why the battle must be won in the mind before it ever reaches your actions. “But I’m a grown man obviously I will …” my brother go and marry. “Hmm they say ovulation at this age, so it’s just science,” my sister, that body should be subjected to the Holy Spirit.

How do you stop masturbating? Arrest the thought the moment it arrives. Deal with it immediately. Listen, you won’t get to pornography, fornication, or even masturbation if you learn to take your thoughts captive before they take you captive. Na survival of the fittest. Who is going to win, you or your thoughts? I just gave you a challenge. I dare you to win. Look at Potiphar’s wife. Sis couldn’t let it go. She kept looking at that fine Hebrew bobo and probably saying, “Yoh… this boy is too fine. Fine man, no pimple, he don katch my eye.” (Joseph was probably my type but ok ok) Instead of shutting the thought down, she kept feeding it until she went the extra mile and tried to sleep with a man who wasn’t her husband. You just keep looking at that sister. Hehe. You will soon sin against your own body.

I think The devil is a salesman. He is definitely into marketing. The guy at the call centre who sells anything and people buy. Hehhh one time l worked at a call centre, guys? It’s not my gift. I can’t sell anything, I can create the product that can be bought but to sell it to you? I will just say “Buy right now, don’t bore me.” lol! Anyways, the devil. He never starts with, “Let’s make this a ten-year addiction.” No, he says, “Just do it once.” That “once” has become ten years of bondage for many people. Every single day during those ten years began with the same lie, “Why are you just thinking about it? Go ahead and do it.” “Just do it!” Nike!

If you want to break the cycle, don’t wait until you masturbate.Win the battle while it’s still just a thought. This part may be harder for some people because the longer you’ve been in bondage, the more it has become a mindset. Your mind has been trained to think that way for so long that it has almost never been challenged. So don’t be surprised when you start fighting back and your mind fights you too. In fact, in the first few days it may even seem louder than before. That’s normal. Fight anyway. I told you before, nobody breaks free from an addiction without a fight.

There’s people who go to rehab, come out, and some relapse. It means they lost the battle to the addiction again . It reminds me of Lot’s wife. She had already started the journey. Ai kodwa lomama. God had made a way of escape for the family. Everything was moving according to His plan, but she still had ties to what she had left behind. She looked back. Maybe she had lots of besties or clothes. It would be my clothes for me because why should they be burnt. My prayer is that you won’t look back. I pray that you will break every tie you have with this habit and keep moving forward.

Now I want you to do a likkle exercise for me, well for yourself. Every day this week that you don’t masturbate, open the Notes app on your phone and write, “Monday – âś….” If you fall, write, “Monday – ❌.” We’re going to start keeping score. Your goal every week is 7/7. If your score is lower than that, don’t quit, make it your challenge for the next week to do better. Please take this seriously. Nobody is going to keep tabs on you. This is a fight you have to win for yourself. Every day you choose to fight is another step away from bondage and another step toward freedom.
