Women are beautiful. They are all so different, yet each is uniquely made. Some are tall and have used their height as an advantage to take over the modelling industry. Some are short. Some are Black, some are White, some are Indian, and others come from countless other backgrounds. Some have dimples. Some wear glasses. Some are athletes, musicians, and career women. Some are vendors selling on the street corner, while others are on television, starring in one show or another.
Some proudly wear their natural hair, while others love their braids and wigs. Some enjoy wearing makeup, while others embrace their natural faces. Some are lipstick girls, some could finish the entire stock of lip gloss in the beauty aisle, (like some people I know) and some? They effortlessly rock both. There is so much that can be said about women, but one thing is certain, one thing for sure, women are beautiful.
When God created Eve, He placed something unique within her, a womb. A woman is the only human being created with a womb, and it is one of the distinguishing features of womanhood. God designed the womb to nurture life, making women the only God-ordained gateway through which every human being enters this world. So if l saw a pregnant man I’d be shocked, because how sir? Leave that to the ladies please. Every person born has come through the womb of a woman.
It is within her that a seed is nurtured, developed, and eventually brought forth as new life. To me, it seems that many women have forgotten just how unique, significant, and valuable they are. The ability to carry, nurture, and give birth to life is a remarkable gift that reflects God’s intentional design and should never be taken for granted. Let me just say this to every woman reading this, you should never be taken for granted even by yourself.
I have seen many women who have never truly taken the time to understand their beauty and identity being swayed by society’s demands to look like one particular woman. Do we really think God was incapable of giving us all the same face and the same body if that was His intention? Why, then, are so many striving for one identical image?
“Oh, I must be light-skinned with big curves. Ah, dimples would be nice, add those to my cart. Give me a tiny waist, smaller than my pinky finger. Increase my chest, from lemons to pumpkins, pleaseeeee it’s a “neeed”. Oh, and don’t forget to change my nose. It has to be perfectly pointed. Sharper than a double edged sword. If possible can it point up? Doctor, I can even pay extra to change my whole face.”
Who told women they were ugly?
It reminds me of God asking Adam in the Garden of Eden, “Who told you that you were naked?” (Genesis 3:11). In other words, Who gave you this information? Where did you hear it? Because whenever a belief begins to shape our identity, we must examine its source. We need to find out what the real issue is? Is it external or within? What is the source of what is happening on social media today, where so many people are consumed with looking like a doll only to live with regret later?
Can I be honest with the ladies? Sometimes we don’t take care of ourselves. We are beautiful, but sometimes we don’t even care a little about ourselves. We neglect our mental health, our physical well-being which I’ll talk about tomorrow and even how we present ourselves socially. My sister, why are you in town wearing clothes with soup stains from last Christmas? That shirt could have been ironed. And those braids… four months, my sister? Please wash your hair.
We have to balance the truth, people of God. We have to. I know we sometimes say, “It’s my personal life.” Fair enough. But God’s Word is applicable to our personal lives too. Why are your used sanitary pads lying around everywhere? Sister no. Let’s do better. Why are you at the mall with an unwashed face, speaking at the top of your lungs, yet your toothbrush has been dry for two days? That too, in a sleeping gown.
Oh, we all have those days when we’re tired, overwhelmed, or simply lazy. I have them too. But why must it be every day? Why should it be a norm where people just know you for not being presentable? Wash up during your period. Wash the armpits, yes o. Use deodorant. Brush your teeth. Moisturise your skin. Take care of your hair. Iron your clothes. Smell nice. Present yourself well. This is not about trying to become beautiful. You already are.
You’re not creating beauty; you are maintaining it. God already did the creating. Your assignment is the maintenance. That beauty of yours deserves care. But shall I tell you something? The beauty of your heart deserves even more care. We need hygiene there too. Hygienic words. Some women can talk nonsense, eh! Every word from your mouth cannot be cussing all day. Every conversation cannot be gossip. Every sentence cannot be tearing someone down. My sister, you’re a child of God.
Do you know that many of the things we have made part of our lives are completely against the Word of God? We’ve normalised what God calls us to put away. We’ve become comfortable with attitudes and habits that don’t reflect Christ. “Normalise being rude!” No we won’t my darling. We don’t want to. Where are the loving women with beautiful hearts? Where are the women who can yield to God and be transformed? Where are the women who are intentionally kind? Where are the women who choose gentleness?
Why look like a queen on the outside while carrying a horrifying heart on the inside? Makeup can enhance your face, but it cannot beautify your heart. Lip gloss can make your lips shine, (there’s someone l know) but only the Holy Spirit can make your words life-giving. Dear woman, today I’m saying to you, you are beautiful, inside and out. Maintain the beauty. Tend to your garden. Pull out whatever doesn’t belong there and allow God to cultivate what does.
Never again listen to any other voice that says otherwise. The God who created you is the One who defines you. Walk confidently in the beauty He has already placed within you. To the men, Incase you forgot and needed reminding, women are beautiful.

“Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration, what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body.”
