Happy new week, my Yielded people. Today I woke up thinking about the coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I found myself thinking deeply about evangelism, about those who are still “deciding” whether to give their lives to Him, those who still don’t “feel” like going to church for reasons that don’t even make sense, those with one foot in and one foot out, those who mock the things of God and call believers all sorts of names, those who laugh at Scripture and blaspheme against the Holy Bible, and those who love sin and pursue it wholeheartedly without any conviction to turn away.
I also found myself thinking about my own life, my own mistakes, and the gray areas I still need God to work on. More than anything, I am thinking about our eternity. Where will we spend it? I usually leave this conversation for the very end, but today I felt led to bring it to the attention of what they call “lazy readers” who only ever read the first part of anything and leave the rest for “thorough readers”.
The most painful reality is that when you die or when Christ returns, nobody can speak on your behalf. Your tears will not help you then. Shall I tell you the gospel truth? Even your grandmother’s prayers cannot secure your place in heaven. Is that shocking? Not even simply attending church can save you. Salvation is personal. We must repent. We must rededicate our lives. We must live for God. If you have not given your life to Christ or you want to recommit your life to Him, today is the day. Be saved today. Comment below, and I will gladly lead you to Christ.
So, people of God, amidst everything happening in today’s world, the chaos, what we call the evil days, and all that is under the sun, God is still good, and He is still doing good things. God is still casting visions, giving people dreams, using people to build nations, bringing people into marriage, moving people to new places, blessing families with children, answering prayers, and allowing new things to begin. You will often find that a yielded and aligned believer is moving from an old season into a new one, that is what we call transition but what does transition mean?
Transition is the process of moving from one stage, season, place, or condition to another.”
Transition is a process; it is not the destination. Think of it this way, if you are travelling from Bulawayo to Harare and you are currently in Gweru, you are in transit. You have not yet arrived where you are going, but you are also no longer where you came from. You are not in Harare, yet you are no longer in Bulawayo. Did you catch the drift? Another example is when you are travelling to New York and your flight has a stopover to connect to another one. Even if you have to wait at the airport for an hour, you are still in transit. Even if you are told that the next plane has been delayed because its engines need to be checked and you have to wait even longer, you do not decide to settle in that country simply because you have been there for a while. You do not belong there.
Exodus 12:41–42 (The Message, MSG):
41 At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the troops of God left Egypt.
In the same way, transition is not a destination it is simply the process God uses to move you from one place, season, or level to another. The fiancé stage is a transition, it is not the marriage itself. The same applies to the talking or dating stage. You do not simply move into a man or woman’s house because you like each other or because you met on Instagram. “Moving in with wifey!” If I catch you “hubby”.. There is a process. You get to know each other, involve your families, pay lobola or dowry where it is part of your culture, prepare for marriage, and then get married. Those stages are all part of the transition.
The interview stage is another example of transition. No matter how well your interview went, you do not walk into the office the next day and announce, “I’ve arrived. I’m here to take over.” As who my brother? You wait for the recruitment process to be completed. HR still has to deliberate, make a decision, and issue an offer if you have been successful. Why? Because every destination you want to reach has its own unique process, timing, distance, requirements, and experiences. Transition prepares you for the place you are praying to enter.
Many people are in a season of transition and do not even realize it. In the realm of the Spirit, they should be preparing, packing their bags, and getting ready to catch the bus to their destination, yet they are still chatting with the neighbours and have not even taken a shower. Like those pink gown ladies all over social media. Someone whose transition is leading them to a place of greatness has not even begun to prepare. No suitcase. Nothing. They do not even have a passport yet.
Someone whose transport is scheduled to leave at 14:00 is still looking for a travel outfit at 13:59 and has not even booked a ticket. Do you see how important a season of transition is in the life of a believer? More often than not, it is the answer to a prayer, yet it finds many of us unaware, unprepared, and unconcerned. Totally unbothered. It finds us too relaxed.
The transition process you may be in is not the end of the journey. It is not the place where you receive the rewards. At times, you may not even be able to see the destination clearly, but you trust the Driver who is taking you where you are meant to go. Stop trying to arrive in Australia in three minutes, except you use a broom as transportation. Stop trying to unpack at the wrong place. Keep your suitcase closed, wrapped and safe. You are not there yet.
Let’s continue this conversation tomorrow. I love you. Take care of yourself.
