Why you should stop masturbating 3

Hey my people. My apologies for the inconsistency. Something happened lastweek that caused another thing to happen, and in the end something else happened that led to me being unable to blog but you understand, don’t you?

People of God, it’s difficult to stop doing something you like. Ever been in love before? You can see that the relationship has a dead end, but you keep going back for one last dose of an “I love you” that brings you pain and destabilises your life. I see things like masturbation in the same light. You like it, but it’s bad for you. You like that person but they are not good for you. You like the chilli but you know it makes your tummy run. I’m convinced people have an obsession with the wrong things & we tend to like what is always bad for us.

Contrary to what many people think, I believe it can be stopped immediately with the right knowledge. I believe that deliverance of the mind sets many captives free, which is the reason for this series. I genuinely want people to be free.

John 8:31–32 (AMPC)

“So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.”

Last week l heard a powerful statement by a young man. He said, “The freedom you have is equal to the truth you know!” Ah that blew my mind! In addition Scripture says that you are a slave to whatever you yield yourself to. It is such a pain that many people are slaves to lust. By the way, any addiction to masturbation is driven by lust. That is why dealing only with the habit is often not enough, you must also address the desires, thoughts, and beliefs that keep feeding it. We will discuss this much later.

Why should you stop masturbating? Because it turns you into a slave to lust. Someone may say, “Oh, but I don’t do it every day!” Yet you still struggle to stop doing it. It’s like having a chain on your feet, you try to leave, but then you find yourself being pulled back to the same spot. You keep saying, “Lord, I’m sorry!” But how many times have you apologised in a week for this one thing? Aren’t you tired of apologising for the same thing over and over again?

This blog is not for pretenders who want to act holy; it is for people who genuinely need help and desire freedom. If you have become heavily addicted, please seek help and book counselling as soon as possible. I believe motivation to write this to you is Holy Spirit desiring that you choose the life of the spirit & rebel against the flesh.

Why must you stop masturbating? Because sex is a spiritual activity. Whether it is with another person or done alone, it is still a sexual act. Many people think masturbation is the option that keeps them off the bed of fornication, but shall I tell you something? You are still engaging in a sexual act. The only thing that’s missing is the feelings of another person otherwise you are still having sex.

Some say, “I’m celibate. At least I’m not having sex with someone, but I masturbate to help myself.” That’s not celibacy. It’s like saying, “I don’t eat red apples, but I eat green ones.” It’s like saying, “I’m lactose intolerant, but I take powdered milk.” It’s like saying, “I can run, but I can’t walk.” The form may look different, but the nature of the act remains the same. You do know that Shakespeare still speaks English right? Just a different kind but guess what? It’s still English.

What has God called us to, brethren? Holiness. So would God approve of a type of “holiness” that says no to fornication but says yes to masturbation? Why do people hide their sex toys and the things they use for self-sex? Why is it shameful for people to find out that you do it if you truly believe it is acceptable to God? Should it not be something you are proud of? Good things are supposed to be brought to the light, shouldn’t they?

Who would boldly beat their chest and post, “Hi guys, I masturbate and I like it” Except for unbelievers? I bet many people wouldn’t. Why? Because deep down they know there is shame attached to it, and many genuinely want to be free. They either do not know how to break free or have become ignorant to the bondage they are in. They think “everyone’s doing it!” Shall l tell you a bit of light? Not everyone’s doing it. Don’t ever think otherwise. I want to help you but how can l help you except I’m not living like that?

God has called you to holiness, and unfortunately, holiness cannot be broken down to suit anyone’s fleshly desires. Holiness is wholesome. It is for the mind, just as it is for the eyes, the feet, and even your private parts. It is for me, for you and for the priest on the pulpit. It is for the young people, the elderly people and even for children. It is for the new believers, the old believers & the entire five fold ministry.
